Never heard of him or seen him play so can’t comment on him.

At 22, with a decent amount of games under his belt for Shakhtar this season, as well as champions league group stage games and Europa League play offs, I’d be surprised if this went through.

Nice to see a LB linked early on.

I'd prefer a more experienced LB coming in, but I think we'll target a younger LB like this boy to compete with Taylor to start off with, rather than outright replace.

He's got decent pedigree this guy, first choice for Shaktar is nothing to turn your nose up at.

 

I really hope that’s not the case. We absolutely must be targeting a LB to replace Taylor immediately if we have any ambition about us at all.

 

Age and experience is probably also ideal for what we want. Assuming he is scouted properly to be confident he will fit the system Rodgers is asking of him, then it's a signing surely to instantly make an impact and push Taylor on as well. He may only be here a couple years, Taylor becomes a consistent player, could be all good.

I remember suggesting him before he went to Red Star in Serbia. Unless he wants a move away from Ukraine it’s hard to see why he would come here.

Shakhtar will be able to offer most of what we can financially and in terms of CL football but it may be that given further escalations again in Ukraine he’s looking for a way out.

From what I remember he is a very attacking fullback that is a good dribbler.

 

I'm not sure how many Ukrainian league games are actually played in Ukraine.

Yeah but that’s what I meant even before the full scale invasion Shakhtar hadn’t played a home game, at their stadium for about 3 years given Donetsk borders Russia and had already had fighting going on there.

It might be that playing for them doesn’t really draw a crowd or much of an atmosphere.
