If we only win the League will this season be deemed a success?

Yes.

We won the biggest contest in our country and claimed the group stage champions league spot. We also did it with a ridiculous amount of injuries and a whole association of referees doing everything they possibly could to guarantee the Huns full points every week. I'd even argue it's a minor miracle that we won the league this season, especially with what's at stake.

 

This for me.

Around about December to February l had this horrible vision that these vermin were going to win the treble, couldn’t see anyone apart from us taking anything from them whilst at the same time our form was a bit sketchy. I would have bit your hand off for a title win but since l’m a greedy * and since we’re in the final l’ll take the cup as well.

 

This year has been the most corrupt I've ever seen, it's a big success that we did it. I honestly thought we might get cheated out of it at one point and that they could have cheated their way to the CL millions. We got over the line against refs, var, sky and the spfl. Then there was the * transfer windows which I still think was part of the duopoly plan, board fighting with fans, Abada etc, been a mental season so definitely a win.

Having said that, let's do them!

 

For me it is, it's been a * season football wise, very little enjoyment of the games probably the worst since Mowbray outside of Covid.

But still winning the League, im actually not even interested in the Cup final at all really, could literally not give a * after the relief of winning the League.

Im more thinking about next season, wanting 3/4/5 better players in and to get back to playing well regularly and watching better football.

 

I think we will see even more corruption in the final. The cheating masonic feckers (especially Beathun) will do everything they can to help their brethren. Let's hope our players watch their tackles and play the way they played against killie and the first half of the last league game against the huns

 

Put it this way - if Rangers had won this league, and then we went and won the Scottish Cup, how happy would you be?

Aye, would be a welcome result but if anyone said it made up for the disappointment of losing the league they'd be kidding themselves on.

Plus as one of the boys on Huddle Breakdown said, it was ALL about the league this year because we just don't know when/if the champions of Scotland will go into the group stage again, or if UEFA will stick with this new format and it's guaranteed £40mil+. And Rangers REALLY needed that guaranteed UCL windfall, which personally I find quite amusing

 

Yes as the league is the most difficult competition of the season, winning the Scottish cup will be the icing on the cake.

REMEMBER THE HUNS GOT A SANTA IN FOR THE LEAGUE CUP FINAL, AND HE WAS CELEBRATING WILDLY, THROWING THE TROPHY UP IN THE AIR LIKE IT WAS THE EUROPEAN CUP

WE GOT OUR SANTA BACK TO CARRY THE LEAGUE TROPHY AND HE DID IT WITH CLASS AND HUMILITY. SEASON = SUCCESSFUL

I'm delighted we won the league. Ecstatic.

However, I'm upset by not winning the league cup. I'll be the same if we lose the Scottish Cup.

I want to win every trophy available.

 

The League is the only one that matters to me. The cups have always been a bonus.

The League and a strong European campaign should always be our objective at the start of a season.

Would be a great way to round off the season though.

 

There is no reality in which being champions is not a success.

Yes, absolutely. Our expectations are far too unrealistic if we think "only" winning the league is some kind of failure.

I think our quadruple treble has led to a level of expectation that could never be sustained.

 

A Scottish cup win will be good as it's the final game of the season and hopefully if we win it will send the huns skulking into the close season

Always seen the League cup as a "back door" trophy if the huns won it but the first leg of a possible treble if we won it

 

I don’t think it’s a hugely useful question to ask whether the season was successful or not because a huge majority will agree it was. It’s a fairly straightforward definition thing.

A better question is to what extent did we underachieve or overachieve this season. For me if we only win the league it’s quite a large underachievement given our players, manager, resources and the opposition we faced this season.

 

If we underachieve, would that not make the season not a success then?
