Early this morning on my local patch i was delighted to hear and get great views of a Garden Warbler singing on my local patch. It has one of my favourite bird songs and is my first one this year.

IN my garden this morning, the sound of two Coal * singing to each other was a treat for a Monday morning.

We have quite a few birds called Morning Doves in our area and its always a feature in the morning hearing their quite loud calls. Its a kind of relaxing cuh-coo sound.

On another note our Robin mom and her chicks seem to be doing well. Looks like she has 3 of them in there in her nest.

Sorry for the shabby picture but this is really rare to see in my back garden. Can anyone identify this? Is it a perelgrine? Some kind of bird of prey perhaps

    Video link

I was delighted to find the trail cam had triggered when this wee family of Badgers were passing through and stopped for a treat, on the downside when i was uploading the video clips onto an external hard drive the fecking thing decided to go * up, and now there's a year and a halfs worth of photos and a few video clips on the drive that won't open, i took it to the tech dept in my local Harvey Norman store and they couldn't retrieve the files either, the techy reckons it could cost hundreds if i send it to a specialist to extract the files.:55:

Marc you can clearly see what a beautiful bird the American Robin is:50:

This wonderful bird is a very rare vagrant in our isles. I have always dreamt of finding one and if I did it would be better than winning a million pounds or more:84:

They are cute. We tend to get quite a lot of them in this area. When they arrive first you know spring is on the way and winter is over for another year.
Next stage now will be the chicks getting big enough to start leaving the nest and flying. I am guessing that might be sometime next week.

A few from Balisodare at the weekend, i'm finding it extremely quiet at the moment re Birdlife, i had another visit to Colgagh loch last week which was a bit of a waste of time, i spent over three hours in the hide and saw 2 Little Grebes and 1 Moorhen, Kellystown on Saturday morning the same, a few Oyster catchers and Cormorants flying across the estuary, Balisodare Sunday morning, a family of Little egrets, a few Shelducks coming and going, and not a lot else, a lot of regulars gone, Red shank, Green shank, Godwits, Teal, Wigeon, not a sign of any on the mudflats.
