Punt, I know he's only here for the homegrown quota. Surprised this thread was on page 9 or whatever after yesrday haha.

Aye he’ll be gone, injuries have been awful for him and he’s only going backwards now. Sell and get McKenna in for a free for the quota.

A 4 year contract given to him. Nowhere near good enough.

Disaster yesterday. Completely responsible for the second goal and almost gave away a third in the lead up to his millionth injury of his career.

Giving him a new deal was * ridiculous.

He had a bit of a horror show yesterday, missed an easy chance early on that would have changed the game then conceded a really daft penalty.

He seems to also be made of glass.

Had high hopes for him when he broke into the team, but seems to get injured every time he plays.

that shoulder needs replacing. If he is happy enough to be 5th choice CB then let him stay but if we get anywhere near 2 million etc for him then punt.

Completely played his way oot the club Saturday

With Scales on a long term contract and also Scales can play LB too, I think we should look to punt Welsh.

    * defending then goes off with what appears to be a weak shoulder as it’s the 2nd time it’s happened.

    Not great.

Apparently Lennon would take him to rapid.
Leave us low for home grown but can't solely have him for that

For me I think he should go, Welsh has decent ability, I think he would be a decent centre back in a back 3 but he will never improve being bit part and he’s not good enough to start week in, week out for us.

I'd take £2-3million but I think it would end up being a loan. He signed a new deal a season ot 2 ago and was long term

Never really rated him but was ok with him being there as a squad player given the number of games we play. But at this point if we can get any kind of decent fee for him this summer I would be fine with selling him along with Lagerbielke and Kobayashi. I think Nawrocki is worth keeping and giving another season. Him and Scales would be good back up options. Then we hopefully go out and sign a first team ready CB to start alongside CCV.

Stephen Welsh is set to give double-chasing Celtic a Scottish Cup final boost by returning to training this week.

The defender had looked to be ruled out of the Hampden clash with Rangers after coming out of the Scottish Premiership trophy day win over St Mirren with a shoulder injury. Welsh only lasted 35 minutes in that game and it was believed he would be out of Saturday’s finale with the Light Blues. The 24-year-old had a scan earlier this week and he has been given the green light to return to training at Lennoxtown later this week.

Welsh is more likely to be on the bench along with Mark Nawrocki, who partnered him against St Mirren. He has been linked with a move to join former boss Neil Lennon at Rapid Bucharest but that has been dismissed by Celtic sources
