Imagine being the richest * in the UK, or thereabouts. Swanning about with your billionaire pals on the golf course as you all chat * and show off your new toys. Then they speak about how there we fun sport teams are doing great, making champions league finals etc and he has to say his team gets pumped by teams that earn less, have a owner worth less and less fans. What's the point in being a billionaire if you can't Swan around with giant golden European cup sized balls?

Probably why I'd not stay a billionaire very long :56:

Apparently hard-ons all round leaving Kilmarnock the other night from the board at the thought of £100m cash in the bank.

Interestingly, our standing in that coefficient table puts us 12th from the bottom - remember the bottom 12 at the end of the league phase are eliminated. We want to finish 24th in the table at minimum.

So for simplicity's sake, you're really looking at the pot 3 teams above us in the coefficient standings, and you're asking Celtic to collect more points over the course than those teams.

Realistically, many teams in the bottom 12 will be competing for that 24th spot.

Celtic would need to put together a really strong and credible run of results to even stand a chance - 9 points minimum against the pot 3 & 4 sides, and hope for a couple big results against the pot 1 & 2 sides.

If we're still in contention on matchday 8, the crowdedness of that league table will make our heads spin at the permutations. We'll likely have at least half a dozen clubs vying for 24th on the last game, likely very finely balanced points wise.

On one hand it will be novel and interesting, on the other hand I think it's going to be a bit too chaotic for your average punter. Can't see this format lasting very long

If we win the title next season (assuming no automatic place in the CL) do we have the chance to parachute into the EL?

Looking at that list, I wouldn't fancy our chances against any Pot 3 team and there are several Pot 4 teams that would bend us over too.

Its exciting playing more different teams, and hopefully its more of a pull when signing better quality players.

Right now Lawell is wanking himself aff with CL format sheet while Nicholson is behind him wearing a DD cut out mask sticking 20 pun notes up his bangle.

Rodgers is standing outside the door dressed like oliver * twist, rattling a Trocaire box filled with coppers.

So now we can also draw teams from the same country. So say sevco somehow lucked through the qualifiers with a mass cull of the country's goat population, then we could draw them and get an easy 3 points.

I read that it’s still the same and you can’t draw a team from your own country in the group stage, not until the last 16.

Could this new set up, be what the board needed to get their heads in check and see us spend just a little more to the level we could?

Nah, me either, what am I talking about.

But for real... the Super League set up I'm interested and could even say, excited to see how this goes. Do I expect to get out of it and get into knockout football? Nah not really, but I'm hoping the new set up lends itself nicely to brining back the semblance of fortress Parkhead used to be

How we do will depend on summer transfer strategy. Based on current team I can't see us getting a playoff spot but there are a few teams in there I'd fancy us to beat.

I think the new format is interesting. My immediate thoughts are that the fixture order will be more important than usual as more of the top teams will qualify earlier so there will be a load of team rotation in later games. Likewise with no Europa league spots, the weakest teams will have nothing to play for sooner.

My other thought was that for all the teams in the middle, there will be plenty of excitement right up to the last minute of the last game but a lot will be decided by goal difference or even goals for. You can conceivably have 8 teams going into the last game playing for maybe 4 spots. You'd like to think celtic would be one of those rather than one of the teams holding up the bottom.
