Reo Hatate

Kind of easily slips the mind these days but how cool is it having this Japanese presence in our squad. Something about Celtic and Japanese players just makes sense.

 

He definitely needs to smarten up on the ball, but as others have said, he instantly improved our midfield just by being there.

 

Reckon he will be awesome in cup final, Huns will be obsessed with Matt and Cal, so will have freedom of the park.
One thing does concern me about him recently, he seems to have lost that drop of the shoulder and swivel that he had last season.

 

He didn't look happy when he was substituted.

 

Only reason he probably got taken off first today was he played the full game Wednesday when O’Riley and McGregor went off.

Today O’Riley stayed on and Hatate and McGregor went off today.

He will have a big part to play next Saturday and it’s time he took one of those games against them to be at the top of his game.

 

Anonymous today. Another poor game to go with his previous 2 outings. I hope he ups his performance next week.

I'd sell him in a heartbeat. Get in a strong, physical and fast midfielder which we desperately lack in his place. Today was shocking - nowhere near what we require.

 

One decent game since his return, livi away. I don’t see what folk see in him, yes he’s a good player but nowhere near as good as some make him out to be.

 

I actually agree with this to an extent. I think he’s overrated. Definitely want to keep him around but we should be looking to find better if we can.

 

Wouldn't be shocked to see him go, he's been atrocious since he returned.

The difference when Bernardo came on was staggering.

 

Wasn’t at the races today, didn’t get into the game at all, like many if a decent offer comes in let him go.

 

I'm a fan when he is on his game, but deserves criticism for that performance.

 

Not been at the races for months.

One thing that's really frustrating about him is his lack of strength and aggression. It's always been a problem for him but I see no signs of that developing which is disappointing.

Definitely would keep him on because we all know what he's capable of. But he needs to step it up next season and start showing on a weekly basis why he's one of the best players in Scotland.

 

He badly wants away. Said before why I know this and it's no exactly an exclusive..

 

Aye the difference when Bernardo came on was incredible, if we started with him instead of Hatate, I think we comfortably win that.

They essentially had control of the midfield and Hatate was a large reason as to why they did.
