    :50: - never noticed it before. The old 2 + 2 = 5 conclusion then.

has a lot to learn when we are trying to be more 'smart' A lot of wasted balls.

    He's some player though

Definitely interesting but pretty pointless in isolation, in context he’s been available as we’ve moved into the business end of the season and have started motoring with a full squad of players to pick from.

Strange thing is this is completely true and yet the team always seems to play much better when he's in it

100% makes a difference, even when he isn't at his best. We need someone else similar because we look dug meat without him.

I honestly think Hatate is hugely underrated. I keep seeing he’s had a poor game but to me he’s instrumental even when he’s apparently poor.

Think he's still too inconsistent. Extremely talented but not strong enough mentally to make the most of it. Still enough credit in the bank to be given the chance to improve on it.

Don't care what anyone says. Midfield is much better with him in it.

    No coincidence.

Hasn't been at his absolute best in the last few games but we're a better team with him in it.

Hatate is a good player and when he’s on it, he’s so vital to how we play.

With that being said, he’s so streaky and inconsistent. There’s so many games where he gives the ball away too much and nothing comes off for him.

I’m not saying I’d actively look to sell him, but would definitely be open to any good offers we receive in the Summer. Need some more athleticism in midfield.

Personally I consider Hatate to be one of our most important players. He turns defence into attack quicker or as quick as anyone in the team. I get from time to time he gives the ball away but I can forgive that when I consider that every pass he plays is full of purpose. Hatate in the main looks for an incisive progressive passes, rarely do you see him play a safe side to side or backwards pass.

Hatate makes things happen and I absolutely love watching the man play. Hatate, O'Riley and McGregor is an brilliant midfield three - we would do well to keep them together for a long time but I fear that won't be the case.

He is top class but I do think he is unnecessarily careless in possession. Element of risk and reward with him but still think there's improvement to come.

The big thing you see him doing is his rotation and movement in midfield, it creates space for him and others. So even if he’s not at his best on the ball his off the ball movement is always class plus ability to turn players and beat a press.

Crazy that some would be happy to see him moved on, given what we know he can do, but want to pay mega money for someone like Bernardo.

Hatate is completely underrated by the vast majority of the support. Didn't have a particularly amazing game at the weekend but he has came back into this team since his injury and we have looked far better in midfield with him in it.

Of course, we should always look to improve in every position because there are always players out there who are better. However, I would not be actively looking to move him on whatsoever. Losing O'Riley in the summer is going to be a huge blow and we don't want to be replacing 2 top midfielders when our recruitment has been sketchy, at best.

Our midfield was so slow and one dimensional without him. CalMac, Bernardo and O'Riley, never worked as well as Hatate included with his agility, or Iwata giving the other 2 freedom to be more adventurous.

Teams were running through our mf consistently after the new year.

The amount of people I've heard moaning about him being stroppy, due to his face apparently always tripping, him is ridiculous. The poor wee *. A vital part of the squad.

Yeah it is. I like him and he's always in my first XI. He just is turning slightly into one of those frustrating players for me as I know what he's capable of.

The complaint I see levelled at him most is he gives the ball away too much, but I'd say out of our CMs when he gets on the ball he's the most keen to immediately drive forward or pick a difficult defence splitting pass rather than play it safe so that just comes with the territory, the positive impact that has far outweighs the negative.
