Sterling and Sima from the huns are two players we could do with in our squad. A big powerful full-back and a big wide player and two guys who are good in the air then a midfielder of the same mould, like a Ledley.

3 guys like that in your team and your chances of scoring from set pieces probably doubles and then defending set pieces you're maybe conceding half.

A big part of the game we've been weak at for years.

What subs did he get wrong yesterday? Idah wasn't great but it was the right call. Left Johnston on too long is about all I'd criticise him for yesterday. Iwata for Hatate was definitely needed and Kuhn for Forrest was always going to happen.

Think he's really showed his experience as a Manager since the defeat to Hearts, played the media and got into Clements head too, without even trying too hard..

Still, yesterday was another performance where we didn't sustain the intensity for the full game, its something we must simply do better next season.

Rodgers made that point at the end too.

The way they were done for me.

Hatate off at HT for Bernardo, I felt there was no reason for Iwata to come on, McGregor looked fresh, sharp and fit and was playing great in that role and should have stayed there. Hatate didn't play well and Bernardo is a good defensive player who could have played as well as Hatate or even better going forward also.

I'd have put Palma, Idah and Kuhn on 60th minute. A fresh front 3, we were against 10 men who were sitting in offering nothing. Maeda although playing really well, Palma would have been much more of a goal threat and creative in a game we were allowed to walk about cutting through them quite easy.

No chance you take Maeda off, he was a constant threat and his defensive work was that of two men. He was Motm for me.

From 45-75 though we had them pinned in trying to open them up, Maeda is not a open them up type player. Palma is, we didn't really need defensive work rate and stuff either, we should have killed them off with a 3rd goal.

It's not just one game either, all season I feel like he's weakened the team or put us in bad spots with the subs.

I don't think he keeps the team fresh or kicks on with subs. His subs always come across to me like hes ran everything out the guy who was playing and now he will accept that this worse guy will come on to finish the game.

We all know he's a bullshitter but he's our bullshitter lol, yes he's flawed and at times the fitbaw hasn't been great this season, but we could still finish with a double, pretty good off the back of a treble.

Aye but when it 2-1 you absolutely need him for his defensive work. He also was unlucky with his 2 goals that were offside. Maeda keeps Tavernier quite too, arguably their biggest threat. Palma just doesn't have a defensive side to his game.

In general our game management can be quite poor and subs play their part. Yesterday though, pretty spot on.

I think Bernardo is a fair shout as is Hatate off earlier. Thought Hatate was out poorest player yesterday.

Still think Iwata was the right call and no way do you sub Maeda yesterday. He was our most effective player.

Agree with this regards Hatate and Bernardo, should have happened at half time. Hatate was way off it.

I felt we let our attack slide though. The way it worked out.

Instead of boosting it with fresh legs while on top.

Like Iwata instead of Bernardo, meant a tiring McGregor pushed forward when it could have been a fresh Bernardo in the attacking areas, pressing and pushing forward. Kuhn coming on for Forrest also over Palma I felt was the lesser attacking move as Palma is the more creative and best goalscoring of our wide players and it was a really easy game, the 2nd half was as slow paced a game of us having them pinned in as theres been all season at home. It wasn't hard work at that point.

Could even have been Bernardo on at HT, Palma and Kuhn on in the 60th, Idah in the 75th, leaving the last sub incase an injury which ended up Ralston for Johnston. We were against 10 men and 10 men who were never going to do anything until the last 10 minutes if they hadn't conceded again yet.

Just because Maeda and Forrest played really well doesn't mean Palma and Kuhn couldn't have done a job and added more to the attack. It's not like it would be Yang and Mikey Johnston coming on.

For me we should have had a freshed up attack to get the 3rd and then it would have been a cakewalk till the end just prodding for a 4th or even 5th.

Aye subs were pretty much spot on....although my only one i would have questioned was hatate not being hooked at 60mins. He was pretty nonexistent and would have liked to have seen maybe bernardo on while we were on the front foot

Possibly, thought Iwata was excellent when he came on though, McGregor having to cover for Hatate was a bigger issue.

Pretty sure we only had 4 subs yesterday so we still had one spare regardless.

Johnston should have been off earlier is still really my only criticism, but your points are reasonable, other than taking Maeda off obviously :40:

Like pretty much every player in the team he’s been very inconsistent. Looks like he’s got us over the line, so back him big in the summer and see where he can take us. Definitely got in the huns heads. I’ve been hugely critical of him, but some difference with CCV, Hatate and McGregor fit

Desrves a huge amount if credit when you think quite a chunk of the fanbase starting turning on him mid season for style of play and some bad results, media who were trying to get the fans to turn the screw even more on him and have you belive phill the punt up the park merchant was the second coming of guardiola , a board who tied his hands behind his back from day one in my opinion, he always remained calm and collected and got the job done. Well in brendan, make it a doube now!

This. In the cold light of day the past couple months have been a masterclass IMO as you say in terms of overall management.

    He's matured a lot.

I've been his biggest critic. Wasn't even him leaving it was his stupid lies and narcissism but he's earned his money and as others have said he's took the pressure in his stride and it's rubbed off on the players.
