PK miss aside superb performance today.

 

Deserves his baws booted for that penalty

 

Lacked belief I felt with the penalty. The polar opposite to his one at Ibrox and against Hearts last week. He was very good outwith that though and scored a crucial goal. He’s a class act.

 

Could have had a hat trick.. The penalty aside, unlucky with the free kick and the shot that went wide.

 

Was in 2 Minds and hit the perfect pen...for a gk

 

The one he trapped out the sky was sensational

given offside even though he was in his own half

 

Incredible performance. I don't blame him for the penalty with how long he had to wait. That was outrageous from VAR and sly as **** from Butland. I remember even Larsson missing one (for Sweden) after a similar wait.

 

Think it was the length of time..

He hasnt even looked close to missing before today's but I had the feeling..

Anyone got the clip of his backheel thing first half over the huns head it was utter filth..

 

Guy is sheer silk, outstanding player that will be almost impossible to replace assuming he does move on this summer.

 

I was thinking that myself at the time as well. Like I said earlier the significance of the occasion is a factor and then you look at how long he had to wait to take it. Still was superb on the day overall though.

 

I did too at the time given how long he was made to wait to take it.

 

An absolute player. Will be sad to see him go.

I dont buy this pish about long wait being an excuse for such a pathetic effort.
Just pick your spot and hammer it into that spot.
I do recall Alan Sherar when he took penalties-think he only missed one in his time, always felt that he could tell the keeper where he was putting it and still score.

Matt always looks a bit awkward in these situations, such a good lad though

 

Why don't player just hit it penalties reasonable hard, above head height and to a side, almost aguaranteed goal?

 

Can mind watching Ballack talking about how he takes penalties, basically smash it as hard as possible into a top corner and if the keeper manages to save that he deserves to. I’ve thought since then it makes a lot of sense.

Keep him on penalties though. We can’t keep changing guys after a couple really good ones and one bad. For some reason he changed his full approach to taking it today. Wee one step run up, hate those types of penalties
