Saw a rumour that we are meant to be in for Marc Leonard from Brighton but has been on loan at Northampton for two seasons. Playing first in league 3 then league 1 this year and getting strong reviews.

He is Scottish but left Hearts as a 16 year old and been in Brighton unders teams until this season. From his stats he seems a bit of an all round midfielder, watching very short clips of him he seems to have a good passing range on him dropping in deep and playing some excellent early balls and good awareness of what is going on around him.

Wonder how much Brighton would want for him. Any player that’s played 46 games in the league and notched up 11 g/a must be a good prospect, I’d just worry Brighton and prem tax would come into it

Talk was fee was low as he only has a year left on his deal, like <£1m. No idea though or whether there is anything really in it.

Keep seeing McKenna’s name rumoured too.

McKenna would be a left sided upgrade on Scales, for that reason I can see us pursuing it.

Still only 27 too, could potentially play for us for another 6/7 years if he can perform to a high level. Only 1 year older than CCV

Brighton don’t leave any interest in any player leave without every penny mined from a deal that they can.

Everyone knows that though, so if we go for one of their players, we will be sure as * we want it and prepared for that with lodging the interest in a Brighton player.

My fanboying of Scales will be brought up in return to this point but I would have zero expectation that McKenna could do anything close to what Scales has this season.

But with CCV next to him, aye he’d be good, I wanted him when he was leaving Aberdeen.

But comes with a decent wage because of what he’s on already, but think he’s a bosman isn’t he? He’ll be wanting £20k odd at least. He’ll walk into a wage like that English Championship. That’s quite high for us, and don’t think he’s guaranteed to make good on being on one of our higher wages.

he’s miles better than scales which should be all that matters and upgrades that position on a free we can pay him more.

I think the McKenna of now is leagues ahead of even the best version of Scales this season.

I didn’t like him at Aberdeen, thought he was a big lump of wid but he’s definitely developed in the Prem and now abroad, you’d be getting a well rounded left sided defender who ticks a lot of boxes IMO.

As far as I can see he hasn’t done great but Copenhagen haven’t either.

There form has picked up a bit but the only reason they still have a good shot at the league is Brondby have kept dropping points everytime they pull clear. They have four games left to go and he was back in the team for their last game after dropping out for a game or two.

I watched the second leg vs City and thought he had a reasonably good game given how good the opposition were. One of the goals he could have done a bit better on but he did start the attack that led to Copenhagens goal by stepping out from the back and beating the press and finding a good pass.

The Danish Superliga is very competitive this year, going into the last 4 games you have the top four split by 3 points and the top 3 by only a point. Interestingly 4th placed Nordsjaelland are in the best form of the 4 followed by Copenhagen.

You also have Silkeborg and AGF as the other two teams in the top 6 and they contested the national cup final the other day there.

McKenna is an instant upgrade on Scales and is HG.

Its a no brained. We should be signing him alongside another CB.

Mckenna has never been good enough for us in my opinion. Better than Welsh is all I'd really say.

Isn't McKenna often criticized for being ill-suited to a team which plays a high D-line? Not much better than Scales, then. If Moyes were to take us over, McKenna would make sense. But since that's not happening...

Not sure how often he has played in a set up like that which could raise concern. He has decent pace for a big guy and on the ball is probably a bit underrated.

What he would give us over Scales is he is better physically. Don’t get me wrong I don’t think he is the perfect player for us but his contract situation and league grown status make him an attractive proposition.

Haven't watched him at Copenhagen. At Aberdeen, I remember him being a good penalty box defender. Rodgers doesn't want that, though.
