I'd be AMAZED if Rodgers isn't the manager next year. He'd need to get an offer to leave for that to change. He's took about 80% of the available points, and that'll be the case come the end too. He'd cost a FORTUNE to pay off. He's never actually had the players he wants brought in yet. We've never been the kind of club to shelve someone without FAR more reasons than a badly injury hit season and a load of international players missing at bad times.

My gut feeling, is he'll be quite healthily backed in this window coming, and that squirrelling away was a gamble he/the club took on the grounds they thought we'd win anyway - which I'd turning out to be a FAR bigger gamble than any of them thought.

Blackburn after £20 mill for him apparently. Looks like a cracking player.. that's the kind of player we need to get after just a year earlier while they are still in our price range.

 

Can't see this happening but i would be absolutely delighted if we signed him.

 

We look at players like this all the time but too * feart to go for them.

It's like he looks decent then he either fades away and the board think Thank * we almost spent money on him or he gets too expensive and we are priced out of it. Board are utter * bags scared of losing a £1

 

I wouldn't be spending the money quoted on him. He's 28 and before this year he's made a few transfers for €800k, €1m and €2m season according to Transfermarkt.

I wouldn't have the confidence to spend huge money on a player who is 28 and his value based on one season.

 

I wouldn't spend it either mate. What I'm saying is we could have probably got him a good bit cheaper when we first started watching but we sit and wait and then they either sky rocket in price and we can't afford them or they come to nothing so we end up doing nothing. Been a tonne of names like this in the past and we never do anything

 

I had never heard of him before. It sounded like he only came on our radar this year and it was already too late.
