What's interesting about that? Most of the time we call players and managers by there surname. Ange is an exception where he is more often called by his first name.

You don't think Rodgers has had any say on the players bought?

 

the only signing this summer that was Brendan’s was Nat Phillips clear to see the rest aren’t his and he doesn’t want them.

his 3 signings I’d say have been like last time around * defensively but better offensively.

 

How can you say it is clear to see they aren't his signings?

He must have had some say over who we signed. Rodgers signed for us quite early, but it never felt if there was any plan in place.

I don't understand why so many people think Ange was given complete control over the club, but Rodgers is dictated to.

 

Iwata was a loan to buy pre his arrival, Holm was agreed to prior to Ange leaving, the Asian lads were just a risk we had to take after losing out on others who have done well elsewhere (Machida for example) Lagerbielke was gifted by his agent, that leaves Idah Kuhn Palma Nawbrocki and Phillips, Phillips only signed due to injuries and in that list is the only truly bad signing.

I honestly don't think he had much input at all with the majority of them. whether it was signings that were already planned by our shitshow of recruitment or whatever they just don't feel like his type of signings for me.

 

Just need to get behind him and the team and get it over the line..

It's been a painful watch at times and there's much wrong with us.

However, we're actually on a good unbeaten run at a crucial part of the season..

If we take yesterday for example, we're the width of the post to be cruising it at 3-0 and it was only a freak goal that got them back into it.

 

There's no excuse for the performances of the team this season. You can point to the quality of the signings and injuries for some of the results (particularly december time) but even when we've had a full strength side the performances have been sporadic (30-45mins at a time) and the football has been dull for the most part.

We're better than we've showed for the majority of the season. He needs backed, yes, but he also needs to up his game as well. Credit where it's due he has got us winning of late and that's all that matters but come August/September if we are churning out more dire football then he'll face a lot of justified criticism.

Would 3 - 0 have been a fair reflection of the game though? Think the final score was pretty accurate so not sure that's a valid point. Besides it didn't go in.

Dundee for me where the better team for large parts of the game so their fans definitely won't agree. So whilst I agree with the sentiment, it isn't based on reality for me.

Our play has gradually improved since December and Rodgers has been more engaged. Both are positives but it's really not been good enough this season.

 

Playing devil's advocate here....the board didn't back him in two windows with the biggest financial prize on offer in the history of Scottish football, what makes you think anything has changed? You could argue the most important time ever to back him was the start of last season and they did eff all. I'm not getting my hopes up

 

Aye, I have a policy of using players surnames. But tested a few times. At least with Koybayashi it was obviously early on you wouldn't be typing it for long.

I come back to this too. My unfounded opinion is Rodgers had a list of targets and they all went belly up because he couldn't persuade them or the board wouldn't agree to the necessary price. Which is why he went in a huff.

If he literally had no involvement in the transfers last summer that's actually worse for me as what's changed. Maybe Lawell Junior going is the difference. Guess we'll find out in the summer if he stays.
