Callum McGregor

... I'm not saying McGregor isn't a part of our strongest midfield.

I'm not saying he won't play a part in the future.

I'm saying if you actually watched McGregor in the last three outings, he's well off the pace and I'd start Iwata or Bernardo ahead of him currently.

I don't know what's hard to grasp. McGregor clearly isn't fit or match sharp to start yet.

 

If it's a fully fit Bernardo or Iwata instead of a half fit (at best) McGregor then there's no debate. McGregor has been poor most of the season, and that's when he's been fully fit.

 

Think the second half McGregor he looked like he’d gotten a grip but clear 60 minutes was the instruction from the medical team.

He’ll play the next game, and he’ll be fine

 

Another on the pile of his countless * awful performances this season.

 

He is so far off the pace at the moment. If he’s carrying an injury, don’t * play him because he’s a man down.

 

Brainless starting him again. He’s a man down.

 

He was ok in the first 20 minutes then his lack of fitness began to show. It's obvious that Rodgers is trying to build him up to full fitness and it makes sense as he's the most important player in the squad when fully fit.

 

Worst I’ve ever seen him play.

 

I can see why we're trying to get him up to speed..

A bit of a conundrum, but for me he starts v Hearts.

He's not been brilliant this season at all so not sure how true that is. Sames true of the whole of midfield though, other than O'Riley first third of season.

We should be so much stronger in midfield.

 

It's poor, even desperate, management by playing him.
I totally get why BR wants him fully fit v Rangers, but not if it costs us points elsewhere.

Have it on good authority that he’s carrying an Achilles injury that could blow any moment yet we’re pushing him through it. That’s from someone who speaks to the club and sfa doctors. His performances are showing.

 

Rodgers also allayed a fitness fear over Callum McGregor. The captain has just returned from an Achilles/calf injury and took a bump in the thick of battle.

Rodgers said: “Yeah he’s fine. He continued so hopefully he keeps building his fitness right the way through and then he does a good job for Scotland.”

Dunno if he’s injured or not. Not buying the fitness thing a professional like him doesn’t lose that much fitness in a few weeks. And he’s been back quite a while now.

He’s either still injured or just not playing well. Hes not been great all season remember.

Iwata has to be playing from the start for the last 4 league games.
