Must have been watching a different player. He seems to be getting better the longer he isn’t playing amongst some fans. When in all honesty he looked pretty pish.

Think he's handled himself brilliantly while not being given more of a chance here. Still always posts on social media and never looks like he has the huff about it all. Rodgers definitely has an issue with him but then had to turn to help from him on Saturday.

Hope he forges a decent career for himself as he seems like a decent lad but it wont be here while Rodgers is in charge

I think he does it deliberatley as a snub to the guy on the bench in the actual position.

He definitely does make points with subs but the time for those psychological gymnastics is when we’re 15 points clear, no in a title race.

Lagerbielke should have been on and Iwata should have been nowhere near centre half, for a multitude of reasons on both points!

Frozen out Gustaf Lagerbielke says he has been unable to have "close contact" with Brendan Rodgers since his move to Celtic.

And amid a lack of minutes for the Scottish Premiership leaders, he revealed that he has turned to building LEGO to fill his time. The Swedish defender has failed to make his mark at Celtic Park since his arrival in Glasgow's east end, and was almost shipped out to Lecce in January on loan - before the plug was pulled on a deal following an injury to key defender Cameron Carter-Vickers.

But while he would have hoped for more minutes since the collapse of the Serie A switch, he has managed just one appearance since the winter window slammed shut - a four-minute cameo in the win over St Johnstone last month. He has not started a game for Celtic since the 1-0 victory over Rangers at Ibrox. During an extended interview with Swedish outlet Aftonbladet, he was put on the spot about his lack of game time since leaving Elfsborg

He responded: “It’s not like in Sweden, you can’t have that close contact with the manager, so it’s just about pulling yourself together and taking the chance when you get it. You just have to focus on what you can control and try to develop

It can be tricky to keep motivated, but I feel in the best form I’ve ever been so I just want show what I can do and how good I am. At the end of the day, there is only one person’s opinion that’s important, deciding if you play or not.”

However, he has remained upbeat about his time in Scotland. During the chat alongside girlfriend Johanna Gerendas he opened up on what he has learned since moving to Glasgow - and noted that he has picked up a hobby alongside pal and fellow Parkhead fringe man Odin Thiago Holm

He said “It’s been educational, it might sound like a cliche when you move abroad. Some real ups and downs. Some real highs, probably some of the highest peaks of my career, but also some lows with little playing time. So both good and bad from a football perspective, but off the pitch it’s been great, we really like it here

Away from the football, we take advantage of living somewhere else, not many people get the opportunity to live in a different country. It rains quite a lot here in Scotland so we haven’t spent that much time outdoors but we’ve been to the Highlands and visited a couple of castle

Gerendas said: “One of the first things I could think about that we’ve done away from the football is building lego." Lagerbielke added: “I have to blame (Odin) Holm for that. At his house, he’s got a whole wall filled with lego! So we blame it on him, been a bit influenced

Seems a likeable lad and has a good attitude in what is obviously a tough time for him football wise. Hopefully both for him and us we can find a buyer and sell him this summer which would be best for everyone.

The reported fee of £3.5m/£4m or so that was getting touted about when he signed - I don’t think we would have, not upfront, maybe clauses at a push. We won’t get that, it’ll look like a bad loss even if we only put £1m upfront or so, that’s the fee we’d get.

I’d put him on loan to English Championship, another guy I think could show his value at another team and we could get a decent return. He has a long enough contract for us to wait till next year him on loan.

Major lessons to be stressed upon in the background with this signing, think for a team defending deeper he is absolutely a good defender. But he is not suited to us at all, and by all accounts we asked Starfelt’s agent to recommend a replacement. He obviously picked a money maker on his books, and we signed him on that.

Our recruitment structure, even with the welcome sackings of Lawwell Jr and his mate, is worrying. We got rid of them, but haven’t exactly revamped or replaced Mark Lawwell’s role with a quality, qualified guy. So we’re relying on Rodgers knowledge and his own network of guys he trusts in the game for summer- and he trusts guys like Lee Congerton.

Yeah it's now middle of April and it's amatuer as * that we don't have a head of recruitment or chief scout. Even getting one in now is probably too late and once again we are setting ourselves up to fail this summer. It's typical Lawell
The sacking of Lawwell Jr seeks to have appeased many amd once again we do what we always do and we forget about problems off the park.

Another * window and fans will be in uproar again for a month or so.

Theres a lot going on on the park just now but we shouldn't be letting up with the pressure on Lawell and should actively be trying to force him out at every opportunity

Championship is a great shout, he'd probably excel down there.

I actually think Italy is still his best bet, lack of pace and physicallity would suit him.

I think he looks too weak for the championship and would likely get rag dolled by most centre forwards down there.

It was £3m that was meant to be the fee or there abouts. As you say I wouldn’t be surprised if add ons were involved in that fee.

Abada was like that when we signed him it was quoted as £3.5m but that included add ons which were likely met given how he performed.

We were like that with our sales of Edouard and Ajer, sold for £18m and £17.5m respectively but it was £14m and £13.5m upfront. Abada’s sale is apparently like that too, Juranovic and Giakoumakis as well.

Depends on the team though, he’s good enough to thrive but he’s very slow, any team with a high line, he’ll be shown up. The one time I’ve seen him thrive was the CL winner game he got, and it’s nothing to do with the goal that - backs to the wall, defending our box, defending deeper than what we usually do on the halfway line. He was * excellent. And during the frantic points, he put his foot on the ball and passed/cleared it calm and collected to areas that could have hurt them.

I think that’s the sort of defender he is, and why even bombed out Sweden had him starting, and why he won an award in the Swedish league.

It’s not ability with him, it’s godawful scouting. Right team in the Championship he could thrive, and thriving in England, comes with a bloated fee. Stress test on that theory is seeing what we can get for MJ with a year left on his deal in the summer. Because he’s ran riot

I get that it's the nature of football and I don't think he was ever suited to playing for us. However, we have handled this so poorly. He's played 4 minutes of football since we cancelled his loan move to Italy.

I get that we needed to look out for the squad overall. Give him some minutes though. Even if it is 20 minutes every couple of weeks when we are coasting in games. It's just been managed so badly. Like many things at this club, at the minute.

Doesn't suit us one bit (far too slow and rash) but our recruitment strategy over the last 2 windows was wild..

Ok, players aren't good enough and don't always fit in but the lack of planning on what to do with the likes of Holm after that for example is a total riddy..
