Maeda gets an awful time

Maeda is a big miss for us, but I don’t think he’s been a big contributor in terms of creating chances for us as much as Kuhn has the last few games … I could be wrong if there’s stats that state otherwise.


In terms of beating a man to the byline and getting a cross in, I don’t think there’s a comparison, Maeda wastes a lot of crossing opportunities.

 

If he was a Batman villain he'd be Two Face. Either brilliant or *.

The only * on the wings that was * was that other * shitebag on the opposite wing.

At least Kuhn had the minerals to take men on, scored a goal and was getting involved in the rough and tumble of the game.

 

He was the only player who looked like making something happen. Wasn't * at all.

But I would like to see him up his game in the final third. I know he scored today, but he's not convincing in the box.

 

BBC gave him man of the match.

I'm not sure how the swing can go from man of the match to *.

 

He was coming inside constantly which was frustrating, usually he’ll hit the line a few times at least and get a ball in. He was our only player creating anything in the first half, just drifted out the game in the 2nd half though.

 

First half I thought he was at least having a go trying to make something happen. He had a bit of energy about him while the rest looked half asleep.

I'm still not convinced he is good enough long term but needs time to prove himself and with maeda out he will get his chance.

 

He’s mediocre, at best. Needs upgrading upon.

 

Thought he was decent, but thats not a high bar considering the dross everywhere else on pitch - Johnston, CCV, Forrest aside

 

Thought he was good tbh. Really like him out right

 

Never entirely sure how to take these without anything to compare it to.

 

I've softened to him for sure and 100% give him the apology for jumping so harshly on him at first - in hindsight now knowing he was underweight and suffering.


But I'll stand by my comment that he is not the quality we needed or what Rodgers alluded to us getting in the winter window (same goes for Idah).

He's no better than wingers already at the club, Defo would have a fully fit Palma over him every day.
So still annoyed with the club (not the players fault), that he was signed as being presented as quality to take us forward.

After he hit that early shot today I thought he looked up for it, but he faded pretty quickly. He needs to start being more a leader in his performances, especially as we look to him to be one of our main creative outlets.

 

Don’t mind him.

He’s alright.

Thought he did well in the first half but faded out in the second half and he needs to pass earlier.
