He's a professional footballer, who's rejuvenated his career and passion for football with us already. Missing penalties others should take isn't what he deserves.

Hes willing to do it that’s really it. I’d rather someone confident to take it than forcing someone who, in theory, should take it.

agree with this, seen a lot bring up the fact Ederson hit one the other night ignoring the fact they are entirely different goalkeepers. One effectively had his career stalled for years because he was no use with the ball at his feet, the other could likely slot into the centre of the park for majority of teams and not look out of place.

A total joke he hit the 5th pen and it’s lucky we ended up winning that shootout tbh or the fallout would’ve been huge.

He missed, so the confidence was misplaced. Which was unsurprising. He should never ever be in the first 5 penalty takers.

Going by plenty of the players performance lately when the pressures on, not many in that team after the 4th would have scored. He stepped up. Like all penalty takers, brave as *. A * true champ. Unlike others the miss won't effect his confidence in the run in either. Joe won us the league today. An outfield player missing could have been catastrophic for confidence.

He also guessed correctly on most penaltys. Impressive considering how * he's been at getting anywhere near anything for 3 years :56:

No. He wanted to do it others didn’t. I’d rather someone who fancied it than forcing someone to actually do it. The result of the penalty is immaterial, you just want someone who is willing to do it.

If that is the case the issue is with half a team of players not wanting to hit one rather than Hart stepping up.

On a positive note though, our penalties were actually very good when we seemed to have missed a lot this season.

No I want someone who specialises in using their feet not their hands to take it.

Elite teams are not run by volunteers, at least they shouldn't be.

Aye I'm.in agreement , when I seen him going to take it I knew it wasn't going in , made up for it with the save but this shouldn't happen again unless it needs to.

You both miss the point, nobody stepped foward by the looks of it and he WANTED to do it. He took one when others weren’t exactly gagging to do it. The answer to what you don’t like about it is simply to ask those that went after why they never stepped foward.

People are blaming different people for different things here... Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but AT THE MOMENT you have to decide who goes up you pick the person that looks you straight in the eye and says "I wanna do this!". That's what Hart did, that's why he was chosen... The miss was an inch from being perfect, was hit powerfully and confidently, and that it didn't go in? * happens! Not like he's the first of our players to miss one this year, including the "specialist, outfield" players who are so great with feet Vs hands.

On the negative side, he should've been fighting with outfield players trying to get in ahead of him. If he had been I think he'd have stepped aside. That's on the others, not him or Rodgers/McGregor.

However, on another note, I don't think people are right to focus on him missing, what a lot of people are missing is that the keeper is a potential double whammy miss, because after missing it'd be easy for their mind to slip from the job of saving the next effort. Other players just walk away. It's incredibly professional of big Joe to just shrug it off and get back to work.

Both sides of this argument are right and wrong at the same time. Thankfully it's a moot point.

Edit: sorry for the long ramble, been working all day and brain is jelly from the tiredness and stress of this * match!
