No problem at all with BR's comments on MIkey, it's pretty much what most of us have been saying for years.

Aye but we aren't the manager of the players who work directly with the squad every day.

Its poorly worded and if Johnston didn't like it he has no come back really, so it's made from an unfair position.

I don't think Rodgers will have even thought about, which is partly why I can't take to the man.

It's a bit like the Leicester chairman saying Rodgers wasn't up to the EPL but he'd do well in Scotland as it's more his standard.

If your manager said in front of all your colleagues, or spoke to the press, highlighting that HoopyT wasn't up to the their job they would be in front of the HR manager immediately.

It's a degrading and unnecessary thing to say publicly.

I think his bigger problem is playing against SPFL teams that camp 10 hammer throwers and a goalie within 10 yards of the net. He's a player who needs space to show his quality, and he doesn't get it up here. Pressure comes into to it too, of course, but I think the biggest reason he's thriving down there is because he's finally playing in open games with more of the pitch to run into.

*shrugs* I've had bosses do worse. Ye get on with the job and don't let what others say bother ye. Or alternatively ye take offence at everything and howl like a wean.

Absolutely nothing wrong whatsoever with what BR has said, it’s the literal truth.

It’s neither snakey or unjust either - from MJ’s perspective you either take that and say * you I’ll prove otherwise or you go in a huff and what choice you make at that point is a mark of his character and/or growth as a person.

You've had bosses do worse than humiliate you in front hundreds of thousands of people?

If your bosses do things like that it's clearly a toxic place of work with bullies as bosses that lack social skills. Good managers don't behave like that. You aren't allowed to behave like that in a modern workplace.

Rodgers overstepped the mark what he said. Publicly shaming your own players is not ok. It's part of the reason I think our team morale and performances have been poor this season.

Saying the jersey doesn't shrink to fit inferior players is literally one of our clubs mottos.

Aye, its absolutely spot on, MJ visibly shrinks when things aren't going well for him in a Celtic jersey..

Plenty of games you could say it about more than Johnston, and lot of that is down to how Rodgers has mis-managed the players, tactics and squad.

Maybe he should look to himself a bit more.

The managers came and went while I stayed there and got on with my job. Players should do the same.

MJ, has been terribly unlucky with injuries, which has caused the fanbase to be even less patient with him and in general homegrown players seem to get a harder time..

However, Rodgers is bang on here, MJ is a talent but can't seem to handle performing for us. Its been the same story under ever manager so its not unique to Rodgers..

Your hate for Rodgers has clouded everything:56:

I don't hate Rodgers, I don't really hate anyone. I just think he's been poor and had a large part to play in squandering our position and find his famed man management this time round is mostly about bigging himself up, which irritates me no end :39:.

I said earlier why I thought it was poor from the manager involved day to day with the squad. Obviously if he'd said it with an Ozzie accent it would be incredibly articulate and motivational, but he didn't :fear:.

Cmon mate, he's neither humiliated or shamed Johnston in that interview. Your disregarding the good stuff he said.

Have you not noticed that Rodgers loves a back handed compliment. Think he does it to try and get a reaction from a player. Like with James Forrest - He said something like Jamesey has the most quality of any of our wingers, but he's getting older and doesn't have the intensity to his game. Basically saying he's good, but doesn't work hard enough.

I think Rodgers likes storytelling, more than anything. I do think it's generally encouraging but not sure how much thought he puts into it.

Heard the opposite about Forrest recently in terms of effort and training. Been really looking to keep himself fit and looking for game time the last couple of seasons supposedly, as opposed to previous when he kept on breaking down.

I usually exclude them out of common sense when people make sweeping statements like that anyway, they don’t count as people. Lizards.
