And looked in total control, not a chance of conceding or even giving a sniff of a chance until CCV came off.

Hart was seething with it, especially after making a cracking first save, he’ll know how important it is for guys infront of him when CCV isn’t there get a steady game conceding no goals because the guys that are there will be well aware when CCV goes off what’s happening, and the more that happens, the more it’ll continue because they’ll be thinking themselves aw *, he’s off, we’re vulnerable.

Celtic fans pining for social standards of a century ago isn’t something you often see to be fair.

Im not pining for the social standards of a century ago. I just wish that the social standards were not as they are in this present day. I am so so so sick of this pish. Its only going to get worse aswell....its not going to go back the way........or get any better.

I am offended by people getting offended. I suppose thats allowed in this day and age since its ok to be offended by anything and everything

BRENDAN RODGERS will celebrate St Patrick’s day with Celtic back top of the Premiership.

But the Hoops boss will also be hoping for the luck of the Irish with his stars who now jet off throughout the world on international duty with a two domestic week break before they return to action at Livingston on March 31.

Goals from Kyogo Furuhashi, Nicolas Kuhn and sub James Forrest – with Saints sub Connor Smith netting a consolation – put the champions a point ahead of Rangers with Philippe Clement’s side in action at Dundee.

And Rodgers – eight league games left – said of his team’s efforts: “Very good. Very pleased.

“Three excellent goals and players getting some minutes.

“Cameron Carter-Vickers played coming back and I was very pleased with that.

I thought from the start of the game there was a great feeling in the stadium and from the crowd.

“Players started the game well and I thought overall it was a very good performance.

“The only downside was when I made all the changes our pressing went a little bit passive and that gave them a little bit more time on the ball than we would have wanted.

“But overall we scored three goals

“But overall we scored three goals.

There were lots of VAR decisions but that is also a compliment to the team because we had so many aggressive moments in the game.

“There were lots of parts of the game to look at in that aspect so that’s a good sign

We created a lot and I was really pleased with the three points.

“Some of these guys haven’t played as much. Think of Tomo not having played a great deal. Welshy

All these guys against a team that is set up very well in 5-4-1 and were nil-nil the last time they were here.

“We had to show we had developed from that. But the crowd were brilliant as well.

“They didn’t get impatient. They could see the team was trying to do the right things and get in the right areas.

“Once we got the first goal that settled everything down. Overall I was pleased

I'll be celebrating St Patrick's Day, as an Irishman.

“So that's the first way I'll use the break.

“Afterwards we have a few days' work where the guys will train well and train hard and we will have a bounce game that will give some of the guys an opportunity to get some game time.

“We will have a little bit of recovery and then we will all be back together.

On his international departing stars, Rodgers added: “You always have to respect international managers' job as well and I also respect that players want to play international football.

“Fingers crossed they can all get back fit and well.

“In the past we lost Abada and we lost Hatate.

“Big players that make the difference for you. Fingers crossed they all come back healthy and we have a strong squad.”

Alistair Johnston, Greg Taylor, Tony Ralston, Matt O’Riley, Daizen Maeda and Adam Idah are all away for their countries.

But Cameron Carter-Vickers has avoided USA duty following discussions between Rodgers and their head coach Gregg Berhalter.

Rodgers said: “We had a good chat.

“Obviously the case with Cam, who has been out for a bit, I was just worried he would go away and be involved in a couple of games when their big games are more later on in June

It was decided that he stays behind and does his work for us and tries to remain fit for the rest of the season.”

My mate said the same at the game when he took a CB off and didn't replace them. Who could guess what comes next!

Game management by Rodgers is non-existant. Today was OK, but Rodgers management is honking.

Yeah definitely I felt like a snowflake. A * scared wee snowflake. I had to lock the doors on myself to stop the inner Provo rage from overcoming my self restraint and taking the hammer out the tool box and going in claw-end on the *.

I did well however. The law system works. 25 year in the jail did manage to put me off from letting my caveman instinct take over and going on a slaughter fest

Aye cos really * have just gave there opinion on it, and you’re also offended by the opposite opinion of your own mate.

    * take * too far with some stuff, but it’s meaningless when they do and only reason it gets the time of day is folk getting offended about it.

We always got the label of offended as Celtic fans, deal with it, * look at when we went for Hugh Dallas’s neck. For sharing a wee joke, harmless as *. We all agreed with that one, and it was just a wee joke he’d have thought harmless. But we all, majority of us never going to be 100%, agreed with why he needed to.

Surface level, that has a weight of history and oppression behind it that we know behind it.

And that’s why * took issue, except a different cause mate. But I’ll say inadvisble rather than malice, due to a lot of people who know where he grew up saying it’s a colloquialism. But BR’s savvier in general, and hope he’s learned the lesson.

To build on my point there, just some songs and words and a parade mate. Imagine being offended with that…

^^^ not my thoughts that, cos they * offend me deep down to ma * core, but that’s the same attitude mate.

Bar that very small period in the game where we conceded, that was probably one of the most controlled performances in both halves we've had under Rodgers. Needs to keep that consistency up.

Keep going back to the comment he made about his style and Anges and the difference, and his answer being (paraphrasing here) he doesn’t mindlessly attack, he attacks with more control on the game.

All too often our style has been too much safe play to keep the ball and control of possession. That’s ended up a lot with not bold enough attacking and nervy ending to games when we haven’t got a clear lead. And it’s been far less ‘controlled’ for winning.

We’ve seen a lot riskier play, bolder passing, and more direct that can lose the ball more but we’ve pressed up the pitch and won that back rapidly when it happens.

The less safe controlled play, the more control we have on the pitch and the result. And it’s been over 3 weeks or so now I don’t see him changing it back now, which was my major worry.

That worry is me not trusting Rodgers ego of letting his ‘controlled football’ go, and allow it more aping what these guys were successful as * with last season.

And I’m basing that off one slight dig in pre-season about the styles and what I think of Rodgers but I’m fully on board 95% with that wee doubt lingering. Hope to * he proves that wee hanging thought as just my Celtic anxiety

Celtic are set to bring out the big guns for the Brendan Rodgers SFA battle after drafting in the brief dubbed the Lionel Messi of sports law.

The Hoops boss will be up at Hampden on Thurday to face the beaks after blasting officials after his side’s Premiership defeat last month. Rodgers is facing a two match ban that would force him to sit in the stands in the Old Firm showdown at Ibrox next Sunday But Record Sport understands the Irishman will be represented by legal eagle Nick De Marco, who has been described by football finance expert Kieran Maguire as the ‘football law version of Lionel Messi’.

De Marco has taken on the English Premier League and Football League beaks for more than 40 clubs – including Leicester City’s ongoing Financial Fair Play dispute. The King's Counsel turned sports barrister led the Nottingham Forest fight for a reduced point deduction in recent weeks having previously been involved in Newcastle United’s Saudi-backed takeover

Celtic are determined to fight to keep Rodgers in the dugout after the boss was carpeted for calling out the officials at Tynecastle. The Hoops gaffer raged after Yang Hyun-jun was shown a straight red for a high boot and then Hearts were awarded a controversial penalty opener. Rodgers took aim at referee Don Robertson and VAR official John Beaton – questioning the pair’s competence.

Rodgers said: “I try to respect decisions and give the benefit of the doubt. “But I think when I see that level of incompetence, which is the only word I can use, then that makes me worry for the game. In such a tight title race that can make the difference. I also think that VAR is not the problem here. “That's clear. It's competence

The first one is the sending off when there is no force. Show a still image of that and of course and you will see a foot up with the head near it, but it's not the reality of the move. Don got it actually right on the field. It was a high boot, so it's a yellow card - no malice or force
