Video on his Instagram and hav him clocked at 33km/hour.

Surely that's fake. Mbappes top speed is only 3km/hour faster.

Or alternatively, he had nothing to do with the signing and knows that playing a deep backline domestically (except away at Ibrox) would be dumb.

Rodgers himself, on several different occasions, has made sure to stress that he has final say on any signings. So he definitely had something to do with it but that could be listening to the recruitment guys in the club and opting to trust their judgement, which is what happened for the majority of the summer transfers looking in from the outside anyway.

Nawrocki was his though, he talked about playing against him for Leicester and being impressed, keeping an eye on him. And the plan looked to be CCV and him, could be the injury he had * that up and just not recovered fully and upto scratch since then, and suffering another spell out when he came back into the team being generous about why he’s not succeeding yet - looks like that could be the case there.

Lagerbielke though, we needed defenders, think he’s trusted the guys in the club and said yes to it, so we got the numbers in there. He’s since got rid of two of the main * that would have been advising him on players ‘scouted’ because it’s clear there was very little of that for Lagerbielke, and Starfelt’s agent pushing us towards him and some youtube highlights seems more likely.

I know this goes against modern football theory, but he could leave a bigger gap between the defense and midfield, and not push the whole team back. Just the D-line. Since Scottish teams don't typically fight for control of the midfield, this wouldn't be an issue. We also have Iwata now.

I don't believe him. Rodgers tells stories all the time. I've never known another manager like him for that. I read a lot more into the fact that of all the huge number of signings we've made, only Palma and Idah actually play when everyone is fit.

I’ve never known him or been struck by him as a guy to graciously invite blame on himself to protect others either

At the time when he said that, it wasn't a case of blame, though. He changed his tune pretty sharpish once it became clear that the signings weren't good enough. :giggle1:

No he didn’t, he’s said it consistently all season and hasn’t changed that once - he has final say.

Isn't both Welsh and Nawrocki injured too? Should surely be CCV and Lagerbielke tomorrow then.....unless Rodgers does something totally * ridiculous which is likely.

Yes. Doesn’t necessarily means he knew much if anything about these guys though, you can see with Lawwell Jr and the other * going, the advisers and guys in the background aren’t upto scratch.

No sure what he said in his presser. Don’t really watch them anymore.

Welsh had an absolute shocker last week tbh. Doesn’t deserve to be anywhere near it even if fit in my view

OK, I know you're not a liar, so I'll take your word on that. TBH, mate, even if I was wrong about that, I just don't buy that most of these were his signings apart from Idah. It doesn't make sense. Nawrocki, yeah, I can see your point; but even there, I think Nawrocki only makes sense as a partner for Starfelt. As a parter for CCV, he makes less sense and as a partner for Scales, he makes no sense at all. A quick Google as a sanity check confirms that Nawrocki signed in July and Starfelt left in August and we all know that Scales broke through because of his performances after the season started.

So Idah for sure and maybe Nawrocki, Kuhn and Palma were Rodgers' signings. The many others? Rodgers could personally swear on the Bible that they were his signings every single interview and I wouldn't believe him.

OK, I'll buy that he's behind Liam Scales in the pecking order. I'll buy that he's behind Nawrocki. I'll even force myself to swallow that a Swedish international is somehow behind Stephen Welsh in the pecking order. But I'm not buying that he's behind Tomoki Iwata for the CB position.

That was Brendan's ego, pure and simple, and it cost us a goal. Rodgers knew it as well, bringing him on after the goal is all but an admission.

He has a major bee in his bunnet about Lagerbielke and all I can think is he felt let down by him in Feyenoord.

He’s much, much, better than he’s being treated.
