Subbed off in 39 mins this eve. Was watching the game at first but switched it off before I saw what happened. Won't be surprised if it's another injury.

Scotland are going to have to prepare to go into the Euros without him.

He was being played through injuries, taking injections to play in games he could of been rested by our current Manager, he's the type of player that wouldn't have said no as a young celtic supporter.

A lot of it was down.to incompetent recruitment and not having any back up.for players. Mixed with Rodgers and Lawell trying to point prove to each other.

6 years later and nothing has changed.

Arsenal will look to sell Kieran Tierney this summer despite Real Sociedad's desire to retain the Scotland defender on loan next season and Aston Villa and Celtic are monitoring the 26-year-old's position. (TeamTalk)

A second source has echoed TEAMtalk’s exclusive regarding the summer sale of Kieran Tierney, though the left-back could be one of just three major names to depart.

Tierney, 26, cost £25m when plucked from Scottish giant Celtic back in 2019. The left-back rarely put a foot wrong in an Arsenal shirt, though frequent injury issues plagued his career in north London.

Mikel Arteta and Edu ultimately decided to sign other players in Tierney’s position. Oleksandr Zinchenko arrived from Manchester City, while Jurrien Timber -signed from Ajax – can play in either full-back position. Furthermore, centre-back Jakub Kiwior has been called upon by Arteta for the left-back role at times this season.

With options aplenty for the Gunners boss, the decision to loan Tierney out was made ahead of the current campaign.

Tierney left for Spain when joining Real Sociedad for the full season. Tierney has shone for La Real, though a pair of hamstring injuries have limited the Scot to just 13 LaLiga appearances

Nonetheless, TEAMtalk exclusively learned on March 5 that Real Sociedad would love nothing more than to re-sign Tierney on loan once again for next season.

However, we also learned Real Sociedad may be denied that chance amid an Arsenal decision on Tierney’s future.

The Gunners have transfer-listed Tierney who upon returning in the summer, will be third-choice at best in his favoured left-back position.

As such, Arsenal hope to secure a permanent sale and have set their sights on recouping the full £25m they paid Celtic five years ago.

Now, a second source in the form of Give Me Sport has backed up our claims regarding Tierney.

Tierney exit plan confirmed; possible next clubs named
They state Arsenal ‘will sell’ the full-back and the minimum the Gunners will accept is £20m. Ideally, that £20m would also come with add-ons attached to potentially bring the final fee to £25m and thus break even on the player.

TEAMtalk learned of Aston Villa’s interest in Tierney, while a return to former club Celtic is also possible.

The latter move would obviously require a compromise on the price tag and the player’s wages too.

GMS mirror our reporting regarding Celtic, stating a return to Celtic ‘does make sense’ but the terms of a deal will ‘probably have to become more realistic.’

There is absolutely zero chance Celtic would pay anything even remotely close to 20m for Tierney and sadly with his injury record nor should we. As much as I am critical of our ultra conservative recruitment policy which has led us to our current mess Tierney most assuredly is out of our financial reach transfer fee wise never mind what his wages would be.

And we shouldn’t. If he could give every game a season reliably, 3 games a week, then yes I’d say we absolutely should with the finances we have.

But half a season is the max expectation from him, and £20m for that regardless of how good he is and how much he’d raise our level in they games he’s available isn’t a thing we can or should do

The only reason he should sign for Celtic is if he wants to move back to Glasgow.

At 26yo playing for clubs in the best leagues, I see no reason why he’d come back and play at a crap level in Scotland. He already has multiple Scottish treble’s.

I’d love to see him back but it’s surely a pipe dream.

That much is an absolute certainty, the only reason we’re so much as mentioned is because his love for the club.

I think a loan for him would have been viable in the summer, when it looked like Sociedad and Newcastle had dropped out having signed LB’s, but Sociedad came back in. And he’s absolutely loved his time there, took to the culture, the diet, the lifestyle more than even he expected going into it open minded trying to embrace it.

He’s a very straightforward straight talking character as is, but you can see through interviews he’s done he is genuinely loving Spain.

After last summers false dawns no one should believe anything like this ffs.

We will get a Lb in this summer but for £3/4m and if we don’t win league we will spend hardly anything. We will probably just spend the O’Riley money and the rest in the bank will need to do us a few years with no CL likely anytime soon.

I don’t see anybody believing it’s a serious option for us and know the reason we’re even mentioned at all is because it’s Kieran Tierney.

Fantastic player when fit and that’s why we can’t risk it even if fee was reasonable
