I'm not denying the negligence of the board and recruitment, I've countless posts slating them, they are rotten.

But it's reductionist to constantly blame this season's woes on the transfer windows. I agree that they were a disgrace, but at the same time, I'm not one of those naive fans who turns a blind eye to Rodgers' incompetence and I do not perceive him to be a mere bystander when transfers are happening. He clearly has an impact; that impact, whatever it is, is clearly not good enough. He must be the unluckiest manager in world football, considering that rubbish signings happen to fall on his lap at every club he's been at.

The majority of Ange's backing came from the sales made in the Summer he arrived. Then when the club were doing their usual at the start of his reign, he applied the necessary pressure. I pointed out that Ange's "backing" in his first January was almost identical to Rodgers' backing a few months ago. The difference was Ange - he knew what he wanted, spent wisely, and strengthened the team which gave us the necessary momentum to win the title. Rodgers signed Kuhn for 100k more than Ange got for Hatate and O'Riley, so it isn't all about money.

I agree 100% with the bit in bold and have made that exact arguments multiple times. However, I think doing that leads to a very different conclusion to yours. There's the remarkable fact that Rodgers hasn't wanted to play the vast majority of the signings he was given. Only Palma and Idah went straight in the team and stayed there. Yang has improved a ton (perhaps due to Rodgers?) and has worked his way in; but it has taken him 8 months to reach that point. All the rest, Rodgers hasn't played whenever he has had a choice. For me, that absolves Rodgers of blame for the windows. The the fact that Mark Lawwell and the chief scout have both been asked to leave in recent weeks confirms that assessment IMO.

Look, Rodgers isn't as good as Ange. I concede that point, although I would argue that no manager in my lifetime has been as good as Ange. The point is that in spite of the worst backing I've ever seen a Celtic manager get in his first season, we are still doing about average in terms of points. I think most people can agree with the firsdt half of that sentence and the second half is just a fact.

That game was not for the feint hearted, I don’t know what is going on in training but we need to get Stevie Wonder

I don't know what we work on defensively at training, but they look like strangers almost every game. That 1st goal was awful.

Even teams like Livi and Ross County are getting joy from our back 4.

It was an admittedly enjoyable game overall and nice to grab two late goals to win it but we look a poorly drilled outfit and have looked that for much of the season.

That's partly on Rodgers though. No one is telling him to persist with them, his treatment of Lagerbielke has been poor.

    That's a minimum!

What do you mean by always?! Happen often, does it?

You noticed that, did you? Nothing gets past you, does it?

For what? For accepting a couple of the 4 or 5 gifts we tried to give them? :43:

Didn't play anywhere near our best....a recurring theme. So what you doing about that? Hasn't been addressed. Ate you even able to address it?

This current side gives me the fear.

Brendan Rodgers insists he knows why Celtic struggled in their Scottish Cup victory over Livingston.

David Martindale's side was more than a match for the champions on their own patch as they ran the current holders close this afternoon.

Twice the visitors equalised as they pegged the Hoops back, but a Daizen Maeda hat-trick inside the last five minutes, plus a Kyogo goal meant Celtic ran out 4-2 winners in the end.

Rodgers was not best pleased with his side's performance, but he is adamant is purely because of the players they're missing due to injury - such as Callum McGregor and Cameron Carter-Vickers.

He told Viaplay after the game "We got there in the end, the scoreline makes it look more comfortable than it was.

"Credit to my players but we didn't perform anywhere near the level that we wanted to. There were a few good individual performances and the players kept going right until the end, which was great.

"Daizen getting his hat-trick was nice, a lot of our creative play came down the right and Daizen finished it off on the left. Also a big compliment to Livingston, it's been a difficult season for them but they came and made it very difficult for us. They gave us a real challenge and we had to overcome that.

"I know why (we struggled). If you're missing the amount of players that we were, the football won't be the same. So once we get those players back, the level of performance will increase."

Then speaking to the BBC, he added: "It was too easy for them at times. We gave away so much space, that was the downside to the performance. In fairness to them they exploited it with two really good goals, and we weren't good enough in those moments.

"We always want to perform. There's probably not another team in the country that's held up to winning and performing. Other teams will grind it out and get a result, we know we have to win and play well. We didn't play well today, little patches were OK, but we won and we're into the semi-final. That makes me very happy.

He's finished. The fact we're in March now and whipping out the microscope to take positives from another pish poor performance against a * poor team is wild. That level of performance is the norm this season it's not like it's a one off

    He’s doing a fantastic job
It blows my mind that we have lost
    Starfelt, Mooy, Jota, Abada, GG,
CCV and Hatate out for most of the year

put those 7 players in the team and tell me Brendan wouldn’t be winning anything

he’s been royally fooked over by the board. And still plugging away

    let’s get behind him FFS!

We scored 4 goals and had a total of 27 shots. It wasn’t a bad performance. Defensively we are a shambles however. We had a back 4 today that wouldn’t look out place at a mid table SPL team though. That’s the issue.
