Rodgers wont drop him purely because of his ego. Even through Scales purple patch I just couldn't take to him. Always felt he was too slow on the ball. Don't really think much of Narwocki, Welsh or lager either tbh so what do you do?:56:

Could argue Lager hasn't had much of an opportunity as them two mind.

People were actually saying Scales was better than Starfelt on here as well. Laughable

Unfair the way fans have turned on him now. Hasn't let anyone down since coming in and has put in some great performances. I wasn't a fan initially but won me over with a decent level of consistency.

Hasn’t let anyone down is well wide of the mark. He’s made so many mistakes, even when he’s played well.

I think I'm somewhere in the middle here. He's not as good as Starfelt; but he's not actually done that badly. He has been very inconsistent in the last few months; but I'd argue that's to be expected, as he's very inexperienced in the CB role, having mostly played at LB before (and even at LB, he's not that experienced).

All in all, I see him like I see Palma: decent player but not as good as the guy he's replacing. I personally find him more likeable than Palma, though.

He's got more experience at CB than LB, over the course of his career.

I tend to be the same here. It can't be that easy when there is a constant revolving door beside him at CB. Lagerbielke, Welsh, Phillips, CCV and Nawrocki have all been in and out of the side, so that does natually lead to some instability, let alone some of the defensive frailties at LB with Taylor there.

And Scales has put in some big performances this season as well as some absolute key moments, blocks or tackles, without which we'd be even worse off than we are. Even in games when he has been not brilliant. But that does not disguise the fact he has made mistakes and like anyone, there has to be accountability.

He desrves credit for pretty much being the ever-present in the defence this season, but it's not exactly been a rock solid defence overall, and as a squad player or even givern a run at LB next season (and he really has never done that bad a job in the 9 times he has played there - we have only lost once when he played there, and that was the 2-0 Bodo/Glimt away game - and there are plenty who'd rather forget that game), but really we probably should be looking for someone a little better for next season to partner CCV.

Defence has been honking all season and he's been the one consistent in it.

    Coincidence??

Defence has been honking all season and we’ve barely had a settled back line every other game.

The lad has stood up and done his best and yeah that may not be Celtic quality on the front foot but defensively he’s been more that adequate.

Can we all stop kidding on he's any better than 4th choice CB. Terrible. 90% of our problems came from the CBs today.

Aye he was rotten today and been going downhill since the break.
Welsh was just as bad also.

Created problems for himself today...as did others I suppose...but cant have both he and welsh playing like that

12 partnerships at the back this season apparently. Need just him CCV, AJ and Taylor. For an extended period

Looks fatigued, been a full on season and more games than he’s used to at a higher intensity. Needs a break and it’s clear CCV is the only leader we have in defence.

Absolutely hit his ceiling. A back up at best. He has been decent buy hasn't improved and teams have switched on to his slowness with the ball.

1 of the first positions to be looked at in the summer.

Reminds me of a supply teacher, he's done really well to take his chance but he's clearly not good enough to be first choice

His passing is a major concern, even a square ball to his CB partner is making them track back to get the ball instead of to the player or for them to run onto it.

Going forward he's constantly mis placing passes or losing it about 25 to 40 yds out and then cannot get back to defend.

No better than a backup in a desperate situation.
