Rodgers revealed Celts are taking no chances over Carter-Vickers given the defender’s injury woes this season. The centre-back will go for a scan and he could be out of the USA international squad at the end of the month. Rodgers said: “We were just going through something very light on Saturday and he felt something in the back of his leg.

“He was okay to continue training but we just didn’t want to take any risk whatsoever with him. As much as he wants to play every game and be there, we had this earlier in the season when he said he was okay, but we ended up losing him for a number of matches

Dunno if I just reaaaally want it to be this and not a ‘niggle’ that keeps him out for weeks again but I feel like CCV’s not being risked unless it’s the league.


I’m desperate for a double. But we need, actually properly need beyond doubt the league. If that means resting CCV in the cup to nurse him through his injuries this year, happy enough with that

 

100% yeah. More than happy for him and Cal to sit out cup games but I’m just terrified they’re both, or even one of the them is, *. I’m just hoping Rodgers left CCV out so he can keep him here over the international break.

I mean.. just as we’re hitting form, McGregor and Carter-Vickers pick up injuries. You couldn’t have hand-picked two more disastrous injuries.
