Brendan Rodgers Discussion Thread

I can't remember us winning, when we have been down to 10 men so early in a game. And with that penalty decision, even Ange would have lost today.

 

I think yang was finally coming onto a game though tbf and it’s suited us to play like that with full backs getting in early crosses. I agree with ye that it’s been rubbish all season but I do believe it was starting to click and then that red card ruined it, the peno was early on and Yang causing that type of problem for them, idah scores that and it’s a completely different game.

I did like the old 3-5-2 though with moussa and eddy but different players etc. we did try the 2 up top albeit it was a different formation. It’s a tricky one for me, let’s say rodgers changed it to the 3-5-2 and it doesn’t work or a bad performance I reckon he’ll be grilled for constantly chopping and changing. I don’t know. Could be a case of it being too congested in the middle with this teams lack of off the ball running. I’m hoping yang gets his suspension revoked and is available as I think him and AJ link up very well.

 

I have watched the incident a dozen times now and to be honest although it wasn't a red card it kind of summed him up. Raw and daft at times. He didn't seem to even be aware there was a Hearts player near him he was so focused on the ball. His awareness is very suspect for me. I have seen Yang have two good games. Aberdeen and Dundee. Maybe today he was picking up where he had left off. We will never know.

Ah I suppose I am just gutted today. It was such a sore one to take.

 

To be fair we did it at Livingston earlier in the season.

 

IF that disgrace of a penalty wasn't given, we could have had a chance. The pressure was taken off them, when we had to chase the game.

 

Rodgers will likely get ban now after his comments - cant recall the last time we had our manager banned...Lennon?

 

If that's the case the club need to go in hard with all the comments Clement has said, every comment gerrard has said. They've set the precedent of what's allowed.

 

If uncle fester can constantly whine about officials with not so much as a telling, then why can't Rodgers.

 

Given the Rangers manager and the Rangers board conduct after the last game against us they can no longer hand out fines or bans.

If they do they are going to cause more issues with their double standards and continually treating Rangers differently.

 

Lol guys take our green tinted specs off. Rodgers calling out beaton is his self preservation rant.so when if huns win and hes gone he can say it was because of cheating we lost the league and not his fault.lol.ego massage. Nonsense. Rodgers is entirely right to call out Beaton as his cheating has cost us a game.

I think Rodgers ego is hurting, but that's because when he was here previously the referees were afraid to cheat so openly against him because he had the big EPL manager reputation.

Now that the huns have started this narrative that Rodgers is some kind of clueless idiot the referees have decided he's fair game for some of the most blatant cheating you've ever seen.

That's not going to sit well with Brendan and hopefully the anger fires him up even more.

Although we've struggled a bit this season the truth is he is still a top manager and there'll be no better revenge for him than beating the scum in their own midden on the way to winning the title.

That's got to be our target for the rest of the season and I wouldn't bet against Rodgers pulling it off.

 

Might be worth demanding the audio from the pen exchange. We have to remember Don Robertson could and should have said "that's a lotta nonsense Beats, we'll look like morons if we give it!"

 

Until yesterday Brendan had a 100% record domestically winning with 10 men in both his spells.

Beaton knew what he was doing.

 

We were already 1-0 up there though. If we had scored the penalty even losing the man would have gave us a chance. You could then have made yourself hard to get through and had two up top to cause problems on the counter.

Hearts are also better than Livi.

 

Of course he can say it. This is a forum and it's an opinion, like 99% of what gets posted here.

Rodgers did well with 10 men earlier in the season against Livi and under pressure from Motherwell recently, but the number of times an Ange team pulled it out of the hat was a mark of how he managed, so it's not even close to ridiculous.

 

It is ridiculous as he’s not here and not our manager so it’s not a relevant statement to make. Who cares about him he left. Sick of hearing Ange this and that he would have done the same as Rodgers if he had to take the Tottenham job straight away when approached
