This can’t go on much longer: Basically 9 men today. How can he still be a regular here? Hes beyond garbage.

He is so inconsistent it’s unbelievable, but for some reason he turns it on against the orcs. Just keep him for them games and bench him for the rest.

It's a bit mental how he's considered a better option than Palma to me.

Starter with Ange, and a starter with Rodgers. As well as an international call up.
Tells you what he brings to a team.

Only a starter due to lack of decent options and to cover a weak left back defensively.
Absolute waste of space going forward (he is in attacker, right?)
Rodgers has to play best front 3 players - that's Idah, Kyogo and Palma.

Maeda is the most limited regular first team player I have seen in last 10 years at Celtic. Truly awful.

Players on 20 odd grand a week should at the very least be able to pass and dribble a ball without difficulty

It tells you he works hard and it is useful for certain set ups.

It's clearly not working under Rodgers though.

For those who are in love.....
There was one second half where he was back to goal and tried a wee flick or turn to beat his man who was about 4 or 5 yards off him and the touch was heavily and the skill was rotten and looked utterly embarrassing..

Anyone got a gif of it?

I honestly cannot take another minute of it..

it’s his defensive work and he always get in behind them.

No point getting in behind if you can't do nothing with the ball.

That’s the thing with him, he either scored a cracker or it ends up in row z.

    Extremely frustrating player.

What do you think he is bringing to this current set up?

Considering his position is an attacker and left wing for celtic.

Its certainly not consistent goals, assists and input to attacking moves.

Starting to seriously wind me up how bad he is technically. Genuinely think as a technical footballer he’s one of the worst I’ve seen play for us. Brings a lot to the team going back the way of course but since when did we start picking Celtic wingers based on what they do defensively?

If he didn’t have that work rate/good pace he’d not get a sniff at our level.

When the opposition have the ball he just puts on the powerband.....runs straight at them and they side step him and he's 5 miles south of where he should really be.

Either that or he fuking combines them because he's in roadrunner mode.

Has to be palma starting left wing going forward. Can’t take maeda failing to do basics every game

I love him... he's everything to me.

But he's not suited to Rodgers style... he's lack of technical ability compared to Palma is astonishing.

I know my man has bundles of energy and can run up and down the wing 24/7 but against Hearts it would of have been far better to have had Palma and Yang down the wings.

Would have been so much better to have I'm comparison to Maeda, two skillfully and technically superior out balls out wide to release to.

All ifs and buts, but I reckon Yang doesn't see ref if we started with Palma.

What would rather the guy who probably has our most goal contributions this season in less minutes than any other attacker. Or the guy 9/10 attacks break down at when he gets it. Can’t assist and can score 1 in every 10 games.

How can BR not see this. Surley the odd goal (which is never an important one) and giving away countless cheap fouls get you a start every week.
