Hard to say I didn’t watch him when he left us because I don’t care what he did after Celtic, mate. He was a very good player for us albeit we should have sold him a season earlier.

Remember his first few games. He definitely looked a player then. Rarely been as impressed. Passing range was superb.

He had levels, no idea what happened but he just seemed to stop playing.

Rough guess though, think his level is better than Swansea and one of the smaller Turkish teams? He didn’t reach his full potential at us.

Annoyingly, the closest we were getting to it and he was storming on and looked hungry for success was the 9 in a row year when it got cut short.

I think you’re getting the impression here that I don’t rate him or what he done here, when it’s pretty much the opposite I rated him that highly what we got and what he could be, and that’s down to attitude alone, is one of the most frustrating things I’ve seen for us.

Just thought of another one, Haksa. Wee * has superb ability, and took a * wee huff and launched out the door. Him fully committed all year we could have * used. But * attitude and a wee huff scuppered a potential good Celtic career

His first ten games or so as a teenager, weirdly considering the biggest criticism he has now he’s older, his end product was * golden. He was something like 8 goals/assists in 10 appearances. Not full games appearances. And think he was shifting to positions like a lone striker at times in they appearances, which I always felt was unfair on him and happened a few times.

But when he first appeared before injuries, he looked * electric. That Sarajevo goal I posted last page or so, people forget we had a wee expectation that he should be doing stuff like that. Injury upon injury and multiple surgeries and too much time out later, it’s not something you think he’d be able to do. He might still though looking at how he’s doing down there, I hope he smashes it.

Celtic fans will ‘rue’ MJ when he’s 35 and about to retire.

Time was up seasons ago for him and Celtic, for the sake of both parties.

In all honesty, he has had enough opportunities to shine with us, we all hoped he would climb to the next level but unfortunately it never happened, let the bhoy carve a new career away from the pressure pot of CP.

Hope he does well, not sure of his contract situation, would be good to get some dough.

    Some goal though.

Another screamer tonight there. What he is doing for West Brom is what we seen when he first broke through here. Just looked shot of confidence in the end here.

Playing very well at the minute, away to QPR. Just scored an absolute screamer as well.

    Go on Mikey!

The start of Rodgers last season he looked a proper player then too. I think it was all attitude with him that was the issue. He had a lot of talent, would have been a cracking 8 in Ange’s system if he had screwed the head.

    * is going on.

Genuinely seems like he's cursed here. Even when he goes elsewhere he doesn't get injured :56:

Every goal he scores is a peach.

I get that he is playing against deeper defenses in Scotland but even so, the guy looks like a totally different player

It was never about his ability..

It was his constant injuries and then complete lack of confidence after as a result..

Fairly simple, he couldn’t hack the pressure here.

Not the first player it’s happened to and wont be the last, glad to see he’s enjoying his football and scoring but he was never making it here.

It just shows you how pish and overrated that league is, that's an English guy doing this he's going £10m+, absolute joke, lol, that's why I hate us shopping there.

Easy to look good when playing against teams that don’t sit in a low block all game.

I think this is a big part of it, we all know if he can get one on one with most full backs he has the ability to beat his man. With us you had to beat that man, then another and probably still shoot under pressure. There it’s beat your man and you have time to get the shot off quite often.

Another thing for a winger is most of these teams and players will have never faced Johnston before where as up here most of the managers have seen him play and a number of the opposition players have come up against him regularly.

For me if he keeps going we demand a good fee and take the money.
