We are far too hard on our home grown players. Forrest who is, and will go down as a Celtic legend inspires an irrational hatred from some fans. And as you said Welsh and Ralston are pilloried and even CalMac is given ridiculous criticism at times.

That’s absolutely spot on and my biggest issue. We’ve spent more on CB’s this season than we have in years, including previous windows we have 3 guys we’ve spent around £12m on in defence alone who are in the wilderness, deemed nowhere near good enough, when we see them we’re more hopeful they can do something for us rather than them doing it - Lagerbielke, Nawrocki and Bernabei.

This summer in particular, we spent quite a bit of money for us, around £18m I think it was. £4m of that has been the only thing that’s played a massive role this season in Palma, it looks like Yang might be coming in to make his mark now so £6m we’ll say.

That’s nowhere near good enough.


Saying that, I really like the look of Holm. I want him loaned to an SPFL team in the summer for a year, because he looks really good I think.

 

Not even that he gets labelled stuff like shitebag, coward, selfish, wants to be the man and tries to hard all in the same tirades against him.

Some of the stuff he gets stick for is just confusing for me, he’s always demanding the ball, trying to make stuff happen, trying to be creative, always making himself available never hiding.


* twice as an 18/19 year old he was hung out to dry, a small young winger used as a target man long balls aimed at him, up front himself, against the Huns. One was him starting because ‘Eddy can only do 60 minutes medical staff say’ we had him up there himself, long balls to win headers, us with ten mins, and have Eddy 20 mins. And then Mikey missed a sitter, and his heads been down ever since really.


There’s been times you see him come back from another injury, another surgery, absolutely electric, then he hit the post or the chance he set up brilliantly was missed. And the head goes down. He’s a confidence player, more than any other player I’ve seen not just at us.

And we rip the guy to shreds. It’s embarrassing being at Parkhead when he gets the ball.

 

Get rid of him while his stock is high. It's not worked out for him here so it's best if he goes.

 

Personally thought he was just coming onto a game here and we loaned him out. Shouldve stayed imo.

 

Doesn't surprise me he's doing well so far, he's got the ability.

Unfortunately the hate he gets from fans is ridiculous. Can't be great for his confidence.

 

He’s definitely much better coming on off the left. The right side killed him these few games he started. Was good off the bench in that game he scored 2 from the left.

 

I think MJ done an interview basically saying Rodgers thought the same, but he wanted the loan.


Don’t blame him for that, and think it’s probably going to be the right decision for him in the long run. He looks like he’s thriving down there, up here he’d still be getting pelters and used sparingly, more than he was first half of the season with players being back.

Seems to suit us as well though, him leaving, when he was ahead of Yang in the pecking order has allowed him to come on and make a big difference in his appearances since he came back from the Asian Cup.

 

There’s also space for him, similar to him performing for Ireland. He has one man to beat, maybe 2 but when he’s doubled up on he has space to attack past them.


He runs into 6/7 defenders in a packed box for us, he usually beats one or two and runs into the 3rd. And then the crowd throws arms up and goes awww * *, greedy * etc etc.


He’s well out of it, hope he keeps this up, we get a good fee for him and he continues to improve and has a good career

It would be hard for him coming back, but not impossible. If he keeps turning it on at WBA then we would be stupid not to consider him coming back. Ive felt he can be physically light at times and playing for WBA might build him up a bit. Either way delighted to see him play with a freedom and smile on his face.

 

* me. Will people never learn. He's pish, doesn't have the mentality to ever make it here. He's doing alright in an absolute dog * league.

The positive is that bang average players, doing OK in that league usually fetch decent money.

We'd be * mental to bring him back again when we should be cashing in while his value is as high as it's ever gonna be

 

Neil Warnock has done it in that wee league for years, came up here to the proper stuff, and has shown his level.

Has anyone been shouting about bringing him back really? Maybe one comment hoping he gets good enough he can do it here as well.

Mostly folk are just appreciating a good goal, another good goal infact, and being happy for the lad.


But like I said a few comments ago, there will be some of us * raging he’s even showing anything down there. There’s a bizarre level of hatred for the guy

 

You don't have to want to bring him back but maybe instead of being a sour * you could try to be happy for a Celtic fan who was at the club since he was 10 and wish him well with his future instead of still talking about how * he is when he's not even here
