Maik Nawrocki

He didn't even play the whole game.

Starting to think either he's got an issue we aren't treating seriously, or he wants to be somewhere else. Also, makes me question him being subbed. Did we know he was crocked, or have we * him off doing it?

It's bizarre.

 

I thought he looked class when I watched him earlier on in the season and was surprised he wasn't getting games when he was back fit after his first injury.

It would appear that he's made from glass.

I'd get rid of him in the summer tbh. We need players that play.

 

If we had just signed CCV this season, we'd be saying the same about him. Got to give him preseason and see how he does.

 

Regardless of the fact he is constantly injured, I don’t like the way he defends.

Backs off for far too long, often at bizarre distances from the attacker, and invites pressure.

We need our two centre backs to be aggressive, particularly if we are going to be committing the full backs. It’s an essential part of playing with a high line.

 

Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that Celtic defender Maik Nawrocki will be unavailable for the clash against Dundee due to a hamstring problem.

The Poland under-21 international picked up the knock against Motherwell in the Parkhead side's recent 3-1 win.

Nawrocki was substituted for Cameron Carter-Vickers in the second half of the match at Fir Park as the former Tottenham centre-back made his return from injury.

And Rodgers provided an update on his squad ahead of the visit of Tony Doherty's side.

"He [Nawrocki] has felt his hamstring in the game so that will set him out, I don't think for too long, but a period of time," Rodgers said

 

One of the few players that we signed recently who might stand a chance of not being utter *….however it turns out he’s a * sick note who spends 80% of his time out injured. Great stuff.

 

Getting to the stage now Rogers will need to put lager on the bench and the guy won't be committed fully the way he's been treated.

 

Out again? * me.

Punt him in the summer. We need players that play.

Thought him and CCV might’ve been a good fit together. CCV improves most CBs he’s player alongside. Starfelt was a good centre half on his own but without CCV I wouldn’t have been as confident in him.

Am I misremembering, or did this guy never have long term lay offs before we signed him?

I honestly think , in the little we've seen him, that there's a special player in there.

Hopefully he can pull it together next year. This seasons passed him by unfortunately.
I definitely wouldn't be looking to get rid. Not yet.

 

Asked about central defender Nawrocki, Rodgers said: “He is still unavailable. Hopefully again after the international break and won’t be too far away.”

 

Still think him and CCV will be our first-choice centre-backs moving forward (unless we invest heavily in another this summer).

Needs a run of games. Really hoped after he helped us see the game out against the huns at the end of the year that it was the boost he was needing. Shame what's happened since.

 

Don’t know what some folk have seen in him anyway - looks nowhere near it to me. Scales and Welsh are clear.

 

Still think he could come good for us. This season has been so stop start for him.

 

This phrase "just needs game time" is ridiculous. We are spending big money on these players and they should be able to hit the ground running. If not we have a league to win. Nawrocki looks like a big solid CB who isn't the quickest, makes rash challenges and can get caught out of position. Scales and CCV give me much more confidence at the back.

CBs are one position, where as a rule, older players are a better option due to having the experience.
