£9m for a young striker that scores goals? (If he keeps it up) is actually awrite. Why be angry? Let's be angry when we've got money in the bank and not spending.. but let's get angry if we spend? Lawells done a number on us all over the years. If he strengthens us, so be it.

    You're missing my point then.

£9m would most certainly be better spent on a different player than Idah.

We surely have to have our limits when it comes to the potential of a deal after this loan period.

As for lawwell doing a number on us (me?) Regarding this, thing you've missed my feelings on that * for quite some time.

We won’t be spending £9m on him but I suspect we’ll get him for over half that fee, probably on deadline day once we call Norwich’s bluff and Idah himself pushes for the move

certainly proving me wrong at the moment - long may it continue!

He's going to have games where he's a bit quiet that's natural but the talent is there 100%

£9m possibly could be spent on a better player, but if someone has come here for 6 months, done well and enjoys it here then you have not got the risk factor.
I think it's why people say £6m for Miovski is worth it, he's scored goals in this league and in ECL so there is some of the risk gone. You could likely get better for £6m but you know what you are getting.

And that's why I didn't want miovski as the number one target. We can do better.

Hindsight til yesterday, most folk would probably have rathered it spent on miovski for the sake of getting someone decent in. But believe the value to still be high.

It feels more like we are accepting the idea to throw money at an easy option, rather than actually be a football club and go do some work to source a player of value at a decent price.

I understand where you are coming from, and there definitely needs to be more risk taking by the club regarding transfers. But we haven't really done a safe transfer in a while really either. But £9m on Idah (I don't think he would cost that), IF he carries on performing wouldn't bother me. Low risk but quality transfers are not a bad thing, as long as you don't do an Edouard where that takes up your entire transfer budget.

I think he looks more accomplished than Oh and plays with a greater level of maturity.

He's more physical than I thought, held Mugabi and Co off quite easily at times which is something I'd read he wasn't actually as good at for a 'big man'.

Like his attitude, you could tell the moment he stepped on the park he wanted to change the outcome of that game and that's what we need right now and THAT is why it was important we got 3 or 4 in January who could do similar. Sadly we didn't.

    Completely agree.

If we're being ruthless/well run, Oh would be out on loan atm and we'd make a call on him in the next 18 months.

Idah is much better than Oh.

The games I've seen was that he wasn't using his stature well enough. I'm glad we saw it against Motherwell. He needs to use his strength and height as an advantage like GG did. Get in amongst a defence and roughly their feathers.

I think he's most surprised me with his footwork. Seems to like the odd flick etc.

    Last paragraph, don't start me...

He’s better than Oh. Oh doesn’t score either of them with only 2 chances. Also can’t hold it up well for a big guy and Idah can drive forward.

Oh has got potential though, still early with him.

Eodgers has Idah to thank big time. 6 points he’s won him 7 maybe as it was a great assist v Aberdeen.

Big man is one of those players that a lot of fans will praise through gritted teeth when he's playing like prime Adriano cos they've jumped in with two feet slaughtering him in the past :56:

Two fantastic finishes, which I didn't think he had in his locker tbh.

Still think it's early days to be calling for signing him permanently, mind. Needs to keep doing it.

Can he do it consistently? With only 11 games left we can’t afford him to have one good game followed by two poor games. If he can play like he played against Motherwell for the remainder of the season he would be a revelation and could fire us to the Title. Time will tell.
