For context I don’t think we could get him at that price you’re entitled to your opinion but I don’t think we sign any of them tbh. It’s ok to dream but won’t happen

We won't sign any of them. It's a player suggestions thread for fans, of course it's unlikely we sign them.

That being said, if it's a "dream" to sign first team players from Bodo, Cercle Brugges, Vancouver, Rakow, Molde, Red Star and St Truiden and a player who barely gets a start for a decent Atalanta team, we are in far worse shape than most of us think.

well I get that but there no suggestion to say we have the scouting staff to be in for players from these teams. Hence the need for an overhaul. I do know it’s a player suggestion board I’m just realistic in where we’re as a club. With no structure in scouting but should have and be in for players like this

Lennon Miller was fantastic today against us, we need to be all over him in the summer.

Should've moved for him in January imo.

If we were Salzburg and Miller played for Strum Graz, we'd have bought him two windows agoa t least and loaned him back to Strum Graz for one or more seasons.

It's how you plan for the future.

Instead we sit with £67m in the bank and complain no one wants any of it for any of their players.

Exactly, we need to do this more with the best of Scottish talent. Obviously not all of them would work out but how many of our cheap punts from abroad work out. Get the lad signed up in the summer and leave him at Motherwell for another year

Guys like Lennon Miller and David Watson (Kilmarnock) should be a priority this summer tbh. We have a quota of homegrown players for Europe that we need to stick to and after selling Turnbull in January, James McCarthy and M.Johnston hopefully to follow this summer, and Bain, Welsh, Vata and Forrest always potentially looking elsewhere, we will be so thin with HG options for the European squad.

    Some good shouts in there.

Denkey I do think is out of our reach on the basis of there being EPL teams in for and other big league clubs. Also the Thiago deal to Brentford for over £30m will impact what Cercle Brugge ask for him given I think Denkey is a better striker. Not saying he will be £30m but I would expect him to go to a West Ham, Everton (if they stay up), Palace or someone like that for about £15m.

Gauld just signed an extension and is on big money over there I don’t think he will be back here. Brevik has a broken leg.

Koita is a good shout as he looks capable against both deeper defences and playing counter attacking style for Europe.

For goalkeeper I would like with Yahia Fofana from Angers or Amir Saipi of Lugano.

I would like to see us tweak our formation next season to a back 3 which would change our needs at the back. I do agree we need considerable numbers in and an overhaul of the squad.

100% would want Miller and Watson in the summer.

    Future planning. What an idea!

Grand old team to play for
I like the idea of signing him in the summer and loaning them Holm for 6 months, the in the winter window Holm comes back and Miller goes to them until the end of the season. Like the idea of loaning out talented young players, but think it's also good for them to spend time training with our first team.

I'd be happy if we spent the guts of 10 Millon on them both, can't afford to be cheap here. Don't see why we can't sign them now for the summer , like the broony deal and try and get ahead of other clubs in for them

I mean, £10m is very expensive considering Miller has 18 months left on his contract and Watson has 2 and a half years left on his.

£4m with add-ons will get both and they'd be worth it imo.

I'd 100% be picking up the phone now to get the deal done for the summer. There's literally nothing stopping us (apart from giving money away).

This is pure fantasy from me, as it would involve us changing our transfer policy back to what it was in the Ange era. But if we bought Ante Budimir from Osasuna (in the event that Adam Idah becomes too expensive to get in the summer), we would get an experienced, hard-working target man in the best form of his life at age 32. An Aaron Mooy-type signing at CF.

Probably too late after his Leverkusen display, that made me aware of the guy at all, but that Juninho from Qarabag.

Looking at the last year he’s had anyway, that wasn’t a one off for the guy, it was just absolutely ridiculous against one of the most in form teams in the world, a top 5 team right now. I watched the full game and it wasn’t just impressive highlights, he ripped them to shreds. 27 Brazillian, but will have a lot of eyes on him after that performance.

Kinda one that you want to get before he does that.

Where I doubt we would sign all 3 but Connor Barron at Aberdeen is another who should be looked at especially given he’s out of contract.

He has been performing very well in an overall poor Aberdeen team. He’s tenacious and has good quality and drive on the ball.

They are a good team Qarabag and have a few players worth a good look. I mentioned before two of their full backs, Toral Bayramov and Elvin Cafarquliyev both look physical and technically gifted players.

The attacking midfield can play of the right wing, Leandro Andrade also has impressive numbers this season.

Lastly he missed the Leverkusen game due to yellow card suspension but their holding centre midfielder Julio Romao is an around 6 foot Brazilian that has received plaudits for his European performances this season too.

That Harrison Burrows at Peterborough looks to be getting better and better....would be a spot on 1st choice for the left back position.

A couple of players whose contracts are expiring that would well be worth a look for problem positions we have.

First is a goalkeeper, Alvaro Valles, of Las Palmas. A 26 year old ball playing goalkeeper who has great reflexes. He is 6’3 so a decent height and is very agile both in terms of making saves and coming off his line. Las Palmas are a possession heavy team and Valles is a big part of this as his distribution and ability to play out are excellent. He is comfortable using either foot too.

The second is left back Martin Frese of FC Nordsjaelland. Unlike a lot of their squad Frese is a 26 year old so one of their older heads. He is a strong all round full back, at around 5’10 and with an athletic build he gets up and down the wing the full game. He provides an option to his winger constantly via overlapping or underlapping runs dragging players away from them.

He has 4 goals and an assist from left back in 21 games this season. However, his expected assists are over 4 suggesting it has been teammates being unable to finish off chances as to why he doesn’t have more than one assist.

His stats put him as one of the best full backs in the Danish Superliga with both his attacking and defensive data all in the to 25% and often higher for his position.

That includes pass accuracy, chance creation, duels won, Aerial Duels won, tackles won, possession regains in the final third.

Again his contract is up in the summer and he is in his peak years. Would be a good pick up for free.

A versatile right sided player worth a look is Rui Modesto. He can play right full back, wing back or further up the right flank. Is at AIK in Sweden currently where he had an excellent season last year despite the team being poor. He is an all action full back/ wingback that I think would be perfect for us domestically against most opposition.

He is at progressing ball through carries and passes, a good crosser of the ball and overall creative outlet from the right flank. He also chips in with a lot of goals for a full back/ wing back. He is an Angolan international as well. At 24 years old, he is not young by modern day football standards but I think someone who could really compliment our squad with his versatility, to play anywhere on the right hand side of a team.

For left centre back I would still look at Scott McKenna. I watched a bit of the Copenhagen Vs City second leg and although they lost he showed a lot to like about his performance, both in terms of defending but also actually in terms of stepping out a press and finding a team mate too. He is only on loan at Copenhagen until the summer, when he is out of contract. I think CCV and McKenna could be a solid centre back pairing.

Mckenna was/is an obvious one for us.

People still thinking of the player 5 year ago. He's much improved.

Its a no brainer and I'd feel more confident away to the likes of Killie etc with him alongside CCV.
