Mark Lawell must be up there with one of the worst appointments we have made. Almost every single transfer window we come out with worse players than those we got rid of. An absolute failure. He is the Head of recruitment. The buck stops with him.

His main selling points were that 2 big academies who are generally great at spotting talent had let him go I never understood it from the get go.

 

Whoever said yes to the agent that offered him to us.

I refuse to believe we scout players.

No one can name more than three scouts employed by the club.

 

The irony of this, is that people who regularly play FM would probably recruit better than the people who are employed by the club.

The stats and traits of players in the game database are compiled by professional scouts, relying on metrics used by forward thinking clubs, based on considerations taken over hundreds of games.

We sign flop after flop offered to us by agents.

I * wish Mark Lawwell played FM.

 

In all seriousness it would be a good resource for at least identifying potential signings before then doing real due dilligence. I’d be surprised if some clubs aren’t using it

 

Aye, it’s a very accurate resource, even right down to salaries, length of contracts, height and weight etc, and that’s before you get in to the technical, physical and mental stats.

People will take the * at that notion, but then again those will be the same people that only watch Celtic and the odd PL game and have zero perspective of the sport outwith the UK.
