Palma could better Jotas and folk would still say he’s *. He needs fancier hair and to wear a retro top down the boozer to get some on side.

 

He's unquestionably a talented player, but I don't think he's a team player. He often tries to score when he should be trying to set someone else up. It's really annoying me. Like today when we really needed to get a goal, he tries to score with a weak header that was never beating the keeper. He should have headed it back across goal. It's that that really winds me up, because se he could be tremendous if he was a bit less selfish.

 

Simple goal but one he's needed for a while, you can tell he enjoyed it.

Stand by that he's a really talented player that's been hamstruck by this system. Once we have a more settled team I think he'll thrive.

 

Frankly I couldn't give a * as long as he contributes.

If you are basing the footballing ability of the 2 on stats alone then I think Mark Lawwell has a job for you.

Palma is a decent player and his numbers are very good for his 1st season in a largely unsettled side but he is nowhere near the player Jota is in the same way Kris Boyd isn't a better striker than Henrik Larsson just bcoz he has the better stats

Don't think it is. Don't rate him. Would be delighted to be proven wrong.. he's been awful when its counted over the past couple months.. taps in again from 5 yards in the 96th minute and he thinks hes CR7 again. This is a fella who was laughing missing penalties a few weeks ago and putting up pictures of his hair cut on instagram 48 hours after we drop points. Show some humility ffs.. if he was a sevco player we would be calling him a show pony.

The stats posted are some insight into how poor a season we're having. Terrible numbers compared to the previous few seasons.

 

I agree hes been below par in the past couple of months. But hes still been our most dangerous player in that time, even when hes playing * hes creating good chances.

Did it not count when he played well earlier in the season? He was one of our better players in the champions league.

If you really think he was happy about missing those penalties then idk what to say.

Imagine celebrating with the fans when you've scored and the team have won. Yang should have been out beside him, aye, but him celebrating with Idah is no big deal. Palma was on for 10 mins and got a goal, weird to slate him today.

 

Any half decent Celtic team and palma wouldn't be in the squad.. just this stage of the season you want a team of togetherness. Everyone pulling together for the greater good of the team.. I have a fear palma is more concerned about palma than the good of the team..

Something needs to change in football. Kyogo and Johnston were absolutely blessed not to be very seriously injured to the degree Elis has unfortunately been. If you’re late with a challenge and headbutt your opponent with any degree of force beyond a glancing blow it should be an instant red card and lengthy ban. * needs removed from the game before this starts happening more regularly

I'm torn on him. Agree he's being unfairly put on a pedestal alongside Jota. He's a completely different type of player.

People seem to forget Jota had some awful games in his time here as well and off the boil weeks. Why do we do this as fans, when a player leaves they seem to be world beaters and never made a mistake in their time here. It's the same with Giakoumakis.

 

I have to admit those stats shocked me, In how high Abada and Maeda’s numbers were last year. Only thing I would add is Maeda was virtually an ever present so his 20 contributions would have been across probably about 50 games. His 16 in half a season in 21/22 is more impressive.

Abada though at high 20’s given how streaky he was and how in and out the team he was is an incredible number to think we have had 3 from him this season taking him and Jota out you are down a significant number even replacing Yang with 3 for Haksabanovic is 12 is mental.

Not a winger but in the limited that Mooy played in the league alone he had 10 assists and 4 goals. Hatate also had 14 goals or assists. Other than O’Riley this year we have had next to nothing from centre midfield on a consistent basis.
