Madness theirs people that think he’s *. It’s just that the team is playing * the now it’s getting everyone down.

He’s been a good signing and without him Hearts are probably second. All our other forwards have been absolutely hopeless all season. Kyogo has done ok in maybe a 3rd of games but shadow of his former self.

Palma is our most dangerous player and has the stats to back it up. He’ll probably finish this season with a better record than Jotas first.

See on this point I do see him doing this sometimes but I believe there is more to it than just Palma taking too many touches, what are our forward thinking players doing to give him an option? Are they making good runs because when you think back to

1.O’Riley vs Hearts,
2. Kyogo in the Scottish vs St Mirren,
3. Idah vs Killie at the weekend,
4. Idah vs Hibs a couple of weeks back,
5. Forrest vs Ross County,
6. Forrest vs Motherwell away,
7. Yang vs Aberdeen at home.
8. Oh vs Aberdeen at home

Most of them were a case of he got the ball got it out his feet and played an early ball or took his man to the byline swung in a cross and it was on the money for the goal scorer. There will be more than that but those are ones I can remember, some were missed too.

Don’t get me wrong it’s not an absolute that he never takes too long or too many touches but Palma has shown if you give him an option he has the ability to spot that and find the delivery.

Right now his confidence is down as is most of the team and I think missed penalties have probably played a part in that too. Where he isn’t as good as Jota was he isn’t a downgrade as a player on Abada or Maeda who were our other first choice wingers.

If we had directly replaced Maeda with Palma in the starting 11, kept Jota and sold Abada we are probably better off for most domestic matches. We have some job on our hands to clear out our wingers but Palma is probably one of the only ones I would keep.

 

I forgot about those missed penalties actually, probably is why a lot of people don't seem to like him.

 

I just think he loves himself more than the team...he's ok but nothing great - but then Jota was so good that the bar has been set too high.

 

Yeah, even his hair annoys me. It's weird how I'm quite happy for genuinely good-looking guys like Sammy to fuss over his hair or Julien and his facial grooming and I'm equally totally happy for guys who are a bit ugly (I will refrain from naming any as at least 1 of the guys I have in mind has mental health problems and it doesn't seem right) to try to make the best of the hand they're dealt; but it annoys me a lot when average-looking guys like Palma or Jota do it.

I still really like him. He's being judged on Jota, which is really unfair. He's come in and got 10 goals and 11 assists. Right now he's our best winger. He's better than Maeda, Abada, Yang, Forrest, Tilio, Kuhn and Johnston. No doubt in my mind. He's been out best signing this season (the bar hasn't been high TBF).

He sometimes takes too many touches, often because no * gets into space and he's waiting.

 

Least we know he will give us goals. Has to play for me.

 

Hasn’t been at his best lately but looked good off the bench there and is MUCH better than maeda for me. Has to start over maeda. Him and yang on the wings now going forward

 

If Maeda starts infront of him again on Wednesday, then I don't really know what to say

 

Can’t believe he didn’t get on until after 80 mins. He’ needs to start. The difference it makes having someone LW that can pass, take a touch, beat a man, cross a ball, score is goal.

 

Maybe he isn't as sexy on the ball as someone like Jota.

But to have over 20 goal involvements with another 11 games to go where he could break 25.... you can't argue that he's served his purpose and those returns could potentially point to a player who'd do even better still... if Rodgers didn't demand such turgid football.

 

He has to play at the moment, he’s the only winger contributing anything meaningful in terms of goals and assists.
