Has completely lost any pace he had, been miles off it most of the season, not the only one though

The few occasions that we’ve looked really good this season we played Iwata next to him, which gave him free rein to go forward a lot more.

I really don’t think it’s rocket science to suggest that McGregor needs that kind of player beside him to flourish. How the coaching staff and recruitment staff can’t see it I’ve no idea.

Outrageously pathetic display in the last 15 from him.

You need your captain and your leaders to get on the ball and calm things down.

Instead he panics and kicks it straight to Killie players on 2 occasions.

He's nowhere near the player he was.

You know it's bad when he's playing like he is with the body language added in too.

He was very good under Rodgers first spell but is in a completely different stage of his career now.

That midfield is just so similar there's nae balance to our side at all.

I do sometimes wonder if it’s just stubbornness. ‘Football men’ who know far better than the run-of-the mill fan, refusing to cave to fan pressure.

Towards full-time he sliced an attempted pass high into the air without trying to control it first and whilst in acres of space. The action of a man who's head has gone. Could do with a rest but who do we replace him with? Atm we can't put 11 decent players on the field even if the squad was fully fit never mind relying on subs/reserves.

Embarrassing from a Celtic captain.. his heads gone I reckon, first real pressure from the huns and he's bottled it.

Surrounded by utter * and a clueless manager doesn't help

Another * performance from what’s meant to be the leader. Needed someone to calm the game down and take control of it second half. Something you want your captain doing.

He never has and never will be suited to being the deepest midfielder

Am I * blaming McGregor for that, Rodgers had him pushing up, overlapped Oh at one point, with O’Riley and Bernardo wide practically on opposing wings, midfield desserted.

Then he’s sprinting back to be the last midfielder back again, just him in there, and makes tired decisions, makes bad decisions. And when it’s Callum McGregor doing that, when you see O’Riley look up and aimlessly passing, or desperately turning around shielding the ball, having two three guys around him but paradoxically none of our players taking advantage of the space that would leave. When you see Kyogo sprinting back, and throwing his hands up, and getting * off at the lack of… impetus, of * structure. Problems are deeper than players. Rodgers performance from the touchlines today was absolutely * * and just plain incompetent.

But you know what? Even taking my analysis of that aside, if you think Rodgers provided a steady, well organised, compact stingy team managing the time left in the game to grind out a victory and the players * it. The only proper defensive midfielder you could say we have sat on the bench, and didn’t come on, to protect our 1-0 lead. Dunno about anycunt else, but I was screaming for Iwata, and for the likes of O’Riley to sit further back in the middle and defend the angles, defend the spaces, to be combative. We had options to do it. What we done though, same thing that lost Rodgers a league in England with Liverpool. When he went more open and attacking trying to prevent letting a 3-0 lead slip, and ultimately inevitably backfired on him.

That was 10 years ago. Rodgers talks about growth and learning from your experience, about a football education. He needs to reflect on if that includes him.

That doesn’t excuse McGregor not being able to play a simple pass, or scooping one straight in the air instead of getting his foot on the ball and making a pass. Iwata I agree would be in my team and be my defensive midfielder. Been screaming for a holding midfielder for years. McGregor isn’t that player.

We’ve got about 5/6 wingers that aren’t capable of beating a man. We’ve just spent £3m on Kuhn, who wasn’t on the park before Yang today, which speaks volumes as well. Hardly surprising though, because Kuhn looks hopeless. We’ve got a back 4 today that wouldn’t look out of place in a mid table SPL team. Nawrocki not playing is absolutely baffling.

The whole club is * rotten.

I actually thought he was having a decent game until he visibly shat it the last 15 minutes or so. Maybe the tactics and * show around him mitigate things a wee bit but still poor from him.

It doesn’t mate, but it’s a symptom of a much deeper problem. And for me anyway, when it gets to that stage where you see him covering a full midfield, no options near him, tired legs and doesn’t think and has a panicked swipe, and then immediately after it doesn’t think about anything except smash this 50/50 and get the ball near where any player of ours will be. No thought behind it. That is so, so far away from his game. It’s notable as * because that’s some one we really don’t expect something like that off, but he was far from the only one struggling, isolated, covering too big an area, isolated and expected to just deal with it. O’Riley had the same issue, and just kept turning in circles trying to guard the ball and aimlessly hitting it in the general direction where a player should be or passing it right back to try and start again, to guys at the back who were basically being manmarked by that point.

It’s definitely not good from them that, but I’m personally giving it a pass, due to the framework that steadily got worse and worse every decision Rodgers made, and expects them just to do be able to do everything. Bullshit, and unfair on them. And * management
