Maeda making good runs but absolutely zero confidence when he gets the ball into feet, no idea why he pulled out of that great cross in either. Palma's obviously got talent but his concentration and decision making at times is brutal.

Played pretty well overall though, a good bit more variety than recently, Kyogo and O'Riley picking up good positions, Taylor has been excellent off the ball and Calmac a bit more involved in attacks than usuall. Cracking assist by Tony.

Welsh has been good but absolutely shat it when he made that tackle.

 

Well, we're winning but it's still stodgy stuff. Still passing the ball to death and wanting to take that one extra touch. Also, why is it that Welsh and Scales, neither of whom can pass a ball, spend more time with the ball at their feet than the rest of the team combined? No wonder we struggle in the build-up. Idah isn't subtle and doesn't have much skill but he does show the difference a physical presence makes, holding-off the opposition and getting past them through power alone. Defensively nothing has changed. Still sitting-ducks to balls played over the top and from set-pieces. And our awareness of players running off-the-ball and through-the-lines must be worse than any side I've ever seen. We need a second to stop nerves setting in, hopefully we'll get it early.

Sorry mate but you are wrong. Welsh is a very good passer of the ball. He plays very good balls into the forwards at a good pace.

He's played more than a few dodgy passes in his time too. To me CB's should stick to their defensive duties, we have midfielders and forwards to create for us.
