Frimpong is a mad talent... was being murdered here because the manager had him be our sole attacking focus from * RB.

not shocked in the slightest that he's been regularly smashing there.

And given Alonso, might just get the vacant role at Liverpool next season... wouldn't be shocked see Frimpong follow behind.

The potential to have a newly converted midfielder of TAA and Frimpong down the right would be mental.

Tbf in that leverkusen team, they play him on the right and just let him do both jobs like ginger klopp did. Haha their full backs come inside and do the usual inverted role, stanisic stepping forward and hincapie covering a back three.

maybe leverkusen saw something in lennys genius with him :56:

Liverpool won’t be able to afford frimpong I don’t think, can only see a PSG, Madrid, Man U, City move on the cards

Been reported as 30% on profit. There was some talk the new deal he signed had a release clause €40m but no idea if that is true. It would seem to seriously undervalue him at £34m. That’s would still net us over £6m.

We already made a very decent profit from his transfer, anything else now will be a bonus

I’d say he would probably cost upwards of £60m if there’s no release clause. If that happened we’d be owed about £15m extra.. so it would really be a massive boost if he went for big money.

30% is what we had agreed with City to get him to us, but it’s reported between 5% to that 30% but 30% is definitely daft journalists getting the wrong end of the stick. £13m and 30% if we did actually manage that, is such a belter of a deal for us that we’ll need to backtrack and Lawwel’s competence for at least 2/3 days. It won’t be that though, more like 10 to 15 similar to others that have been confirmed like Van Dijk, Wanyama and Dembele. Think it’s a standard 10% we don’t go below at all.

Eddy and Ajer deals were reported the same as well.

We never got £13m for him it was about £11m. It was also said right from that point we held a big sell on, on profit.

When we sold Wanyama and Forster etc this was only really becoming a prominent thing in Europe. Most deals now seem to come with at least some sort of sell on. As we saw with Jota (30% on whole fee) and we owed a decent % on profit from Edouard’s sale. Van Dijk was it not 15% of profit because we got not far off £7m when he went to Liverpool alongside the original sale fee.

We have a decent % on Tierney and it was reported as the whole sale rather than profit too.

At the end of the day no one will know, as it will be included in the transfer profit or gains on player sales, so it is nearly impossible to tell exactly unless there is a comment in the statement by either Chairman or CEO.

I’ve always had £13m fee in my head, 30% going to City so we earned about £8.5m or that all in? I’m sure we got more for him than Van Dijk?

aye we will never know for a fact tbf that’s spot on, don’t know if any part of fees like that are add-ons that we could one day earn. I’m sure when Van Dijk got a cap for Holland, we got £1m odd to actually get it to the reported full fee.

Deals are usually a lot more complicated than us as fans usually make out:56:

but less complicated than * Lawwel makes out anaw

They definitely are now, I know we have struggled to identify players in South America and the ones we have, have been rubbish but it seems even more complex there with agencies, players themselves etc owning part of them as well as their current clubs.

There’s bonuses and clauses for all sorts in deals now.

Aye, I think a big part of us not looking closer to that market is we’d be * terrified of the pitfalls. We’re slow enough never mind dealing with some of the wild * over there

Scored the first goal in a win today.

Fabrizio Romano repeated that his buy our clause is €40m this summer.

Wonder if he’ll go to Liverpool with Alonso or Madrid. Any team would be mad to pass him up

It's not great for our sell on clause. He will get snapped up in England for that price.

I suspect we will find out how true that is in the summer. He will definitely move on. Worst case it is true that’s still £6m+ for not losing a player in your team. Given what we are getting for Abada and O’Riley will likely be away that should all be spent or close to it.

Tidy sum to add on to what ever we already earned from the initial sale to Leverkusen. Have to think it would be a surprise if he is not on the move this summer.
