Ireland are garbage and he was a large part of it. He is very raw and a bit brainless. Offside a lot and his touch can be atrocious. He works hard though and never misses a penalty. Put it like this- his goals last night might be the difference between winning and losing the league when we look back at the end of the season. So fair play to him.

Been involved in all our goals since joining. Without him we could have had 0 or 1 from 6 points available. Also been involved in pretty much all our chances in these 2 games. Aberdeen - assist, O’Riley post, Kyogo shot, maybe O’Riley right at death but can’t mind who that was for sure?

Last night obviously gets the 2 goals, and could’ve had another 1 or 2. Was pressing fairly well and created an opportunity from that but fluffed it getting caught in two minds.

Early days but signs are promising. Just needs that open play goal and he’ll kick on even more. Pretty sure he will get it at the weekend.

Two very important penalties converted, massive kudos to him for that.

Don't want to go overboard though, I think we're just desperately clinging onto anything at the minute for some inspiration. I liked the fact that by merely being on the pitch he offers us more physicality up there, but he did miss a few good chances as well.

Good start for him but the jury is still out.

Surprised people can't see just how much of a positive impact he's made already with his overall play, running and presence..

It’s just because the 3/4 missed chances from open play and the fact people make their mins up on players after 1 game. Definitely should have buried one of the 3/4 decent chances he had albeit 2 wouldn’t have stood. Weren’t sitters though Volley was pretty unlucky tbf.

I don't think they were sitters, he could have done better but nobody else was doing what he was doing. Once he gets a bit match sharp I think he'd do better.

Overall he's scores 2 and got an assist in 2 games, and a big part of us getting 4 points instead of * all. Maybe he could do better but he isn't the main issue in that team.

Thought he was average last night but you have to give him credit for putting away that second penalty under a lot of pressure. Has had a good start to his time at Celtic.

Adam Idah is in line to start again after scoring twice to earn Celtic a victory against Hibs in midweek.

The Irish striker is on loan until the end of the season and many a Hoops supporter was far from thrilled at his arrival.

But Rodgers is tipping him to go to the top and told him he’ll be IDOLISED if he becomes a Celtic star.

He said: “I spoke to him on Friday morning and told him he’s had a great start, and well done.

“But always remember this is a game where a pat on the back is only about ten inches from a slap on the a**e!

“A clever guy told me that success has many fathers. When you’re succeeding, everyone’s there for you.

“But when you fail, you’re an orphan.

“If you want to succeed, it’s that humility - along with consistency - which keeps you there.

“So the message was, ‘Well done, you’ve scored two goals in your first start - two big pressure goals with everything involved - but don’t get too carried away’.

“Adam’s only 22 but he already has around 25 international appearances. He’s played against some top players and scored in the Premier League.

“So he’s clearly got the talent, it’s just about getting the consistency.

“It’s fair to say I’m excited about working with Adam and trying to take his game to the next level.

“I had seen him live in the Premier League with Norwich and I saw a young player with real potential. Him being Irish obviously caught my eye as well.

“It just hasn’t quite worked out for him yet, but when you see someone with that physicality, speed and technique, it excites you.

“You saw on Wednesday night how he took those two penalties. It was with authority and composure.

“When I see all of that, it always excites me. He’s got all the tools there.

“It’s now about trying to help him get the mentality you need to be a top player.

“People will ask me, how far can he go? Well, he has the talent to go to the very highest level.

“But it’s about what he does with it.

“There are players with the same talent as Adam but they’re playing on local pitches on a Sunday afternoon.

If I was Idah I'm really not sure how I'd feel about that last line :giggle1:

He's just not a natural finisher by the looks of it. Is a pest for defenders though.

Looked very promising first 25 mins then fell out of the game. Taken that chance from Ralston and wouldn't have mattered but needs to show more.

Yeah, he's always been that though hasn't he. He holds up the ball and bullies the defence for others to score. I think we should do the 4 4 1 1 again.

I thought be had a good game. His shot in the first half was going in. It was well blocked.

He should have scored early in the second half. The ball wasn't as much of a stretch as made out.

The miss aside, I would start him and Kyogo again. They need to develop and understanding.

Misused. The deep forward gets into physical tussles, which Kyogo can't handle. But Idah can.

He looks good I think, should’ve done better for ralston across but he is a nuisance for defenders and I think he holds the ball up n links well. Like having him and kyogo on together so hope we go for the same next Saturday

I think the same, we need more of him getting the ball a little deeper and occupying defenders and Kyogo making runs in behind him. He's not clinical (quite the opposite) but if he can cause some havoc and get Kyogo more involved he can be useful. Having Kyogo dropping deep and Idah being our primary target and goalscorer just won't work more often than not.
