Grand old team to play for
Johnstone got a fractured skull from that challenge by Triantis. Not known if he's gonna be out long term yet. Those types of late aerial challenges should be straight reds. You've got the immediate damage and the potential for long term cumulative damage from nasty head knocks.

It's scandalous that those are still not punished. In future there will be players suing football associations for not acting quickly enough to stamp out these types of challenges.

He'll be back soon, just get the CalMac mask on!

It's about time too that a so called clash of heads is treated in same way as late tackle and as (serious) foulplay.
I'd like to see red cards dished out too, when it's obviously reckless as the potential injuries are so serious

    Hope he's OK.

Still can't believe that some thick idiots think that it was a 50-50 and even showed a genuine 50-50 and said it was exactly the same.

Same idiots who think this happen 5, 6, 7 times a game.

Some idiots are thicker than idiots.

It’s mental. Thankfully Gordon Duncan, MW and Daz put them straight on the phone ins.. it just winds me up when people are so blatantly wrong and adamant they’re right :giggle1:

Especially when you look at what they perceive is a foul when it's against their team.

Brendan Rodgers has been hit with another injury headache with fears Alistair Johnston could be out for weeks with a suspected cracked skull.

The Celtic defender was raced to hospital in Edinburgh on Wednesday after suffering a nasty head injury in the dramatic 2-1 win against Hibs. Johnston is out of tomorrow’s Scottish Cup clash at St Mirren – along with Cameron Carter-Vickers, Greg Taylor and Reo Hatate – but the Hoops are sweating on the results of a scan to discover if the Canada star is facing a lengthy absence.

Rodgers said: “He won’t be available for the weekend. We think he has a slight fracture on the side of the head. Hopefully we’ll get the result from the scan. It just seems to be a season of continual issues especially around a lot of our starting players. We’ll see. Hopefully, fingers crossed it’ll be ok and he won’t be out for too long.”

McGregor was a cheekbone I think..

Hopefully this isn't as serious, hopefully Ralston steps up.

I broke my cheek bone playing football in my early 20's and was out for 2 months. I appreciate medicine has moved on since then but, if it is indeed a broken cheekbone, then I don"t think we will see him back anytime soon

Meanwhile, Rodgers says he is no further forward in knowing exactly how long Alistair Johnston will be sidelined following a scan, saying that the fracture he sustained to the side of his head at Easter Road could keep the right back out for as much as four weeks, or as little as 10 days.

“We’re just waiting to see again on him," he said.

“The thinking is we’ll have a look in 10 days to see where he’s at.

“But it could be 10 days to four weeks. We’ll just have to wait and see.”
