He is and always was a bullshit artist. The media in England loved him & never questioned anything he said. He regularly threw his players & ownership group under the bus rather than accept any blame himself. I was shocked & amazed when Celtic took him back & to be honest I was surprised that he wanted to come back. His last season at Leicester was a disaster & none of the Premier League teams had any interest in him.

Did this * chimp actually quote how Many City improved under challenges???

Did they INVEST Brendan? * Muppet.

Man City went and paid money for the BEST option they could find. Erling Haaland.

You went out and came back with the cheapest option you could get. Adam * Idah.

Somebody slap some sense into this clown.

He does talk too much, but I think his biggest problem is likeability. He has so little charisma it makes everyone get tired the minute they hear him talk. A lot of what he's saying isn't wrong exactly, and if it was a different manager saying it I don't think we'd be reacting the way we do. But there's a smugness about him that just riles everyone up the wrong way, so any way his comments could be interpreted negatively, that's what folk do (myself included).

Which tells me that they are/were simply regurgitating the party line, something that Ange would never have done.

I know you're taking the * but genuinely. Folk were less bothered when Henrik left.

He's gone and he's no coming back.

Get over it ya bunch of gimps.

I am not someone demanding Rodgers out, well yet any way. However, I am struggling to see how the transfer situation that is the root of our problems at the moment changes.

You have the club who want to operate at a certain price point, demographic and wage structure which would point to us shopping in leagues like Austria, Switzerland, Ligue 2, Bundesliga 2., Serbia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Scandinavia,Belgium, Portugal and Holand below the top 4 in each, J League and K League etc. for players who are performing well in these leagues but not on the radar of big clubs.

You then have Rodgers who wants “quality” by that it’s becoming apparent he means players who either play in or have played in the top 5 or 6 leagues plus the English Championship. Typically markets where if someone is good they cost more than the price point and wage structure mentioned above. The likelihood is most of these players are already operating at a level where they have EPL interest or top half of those bigger leagues interested.

My point is these are polar opposites really of what the other wants. So even if both make some concessions I still think there is a gap between the type of players Rodgers wants to see and the type the club will look to bring in. Therefore, how do we move forward?

Where I agree with Rodgers wanting better quality, I do think that has to come from improving our scouting approach and identifying better players to fit our team rather than trying to shop in the bigger/ richer leagues.

I am not sure Rodgers would even accept the later or has he just reached the stage of turning down everything the club propose?

No one wanted Henrik to leave. And we still go on about him regularly. He also, aptly, left in the best of ways.

It's been close to 2 decades and I'd still have him back. Bet he'd get a hatrick tonight if available.

The first cut is the deepest. :67:

Rodgers still seems very relaxed and confident, that's good enough for me, but he really needs a result tonight, if not his patter won't be enough to save him.

I get the feeling he doesn't care what happens. He doesn't feel pressure, because in his mind, there isn't any.

Aye, that's been my feeling all along. Hasn't really shown anything to indicate he's actually bothered at any point for me.

Maybe he was exactly the same the first time too. Just not how I remember him.
