Just read that "we" ie. Lawell, called Templeton up and tried to get him to sign for Celtic... But he had to wait until the end of the season, as we were refusing to pay a fee. He chose Sevco as the diets were threatening him with all sorts of he didn't get gone.

Imagine calling a kid up and saying "don't sign fer ra sevco! A swear, we'll sign ye at the end of the year ... when yer free!"

Pish player... But further evidence if the absolute * show we've been ever since forever.

Starting to think there's a personal battles going on within the club and lawwell and son want to * Rogers anyway they can and hoping the fans turn on him .
The ego's within the club are battling it out and the club this season will suffer for it and the rest of the board probably * scared of lawwell snr .
What's the excuse for not backing the manager who kept asking for 4 quality signings and we know Rogers and lawwell probably can't stand each other and one of the reasons Rogers left with lawwell interfering.

If we lose the league surely he'll have to go? It'll be untenable.

It doesn't matter what any of us think, what matters is what Desmond thinks, and he's a vindictive * and will keep him in the job to show the fans who the Daddy is, just like in the Covid season. For DD the fans are a necessary evil - no more, no less.

Oh, but he did. Making Mark Hitler head of the Wehrmacht in 42 was the turing point that lost him the war. Well-known fact.

Never understood what Desmond was thinking of when bringing Lawwell back, He was the most hated man at Celtic Park after We lost the 10 and still is to this day.

Peter Lawwell is adamant Hoops chiefs are not hoarding cash – and they share fan frustration at failing to splash out in January.

The Parkhead club announced bumper mid-season financial results with revenues up to £85m and £67m in the club’s coffers. Lawwell revealed Celts had spent £23m since last summer amid major investment in the new Barrowfield training complex and the first team’s Lennoxtown HQ. But the chairman admitted the winter transfer window wasn’t up to scratch with just £3m recruit Nicolas Kuhn and loan signing Adam Idah landing and big targets slipping through the net

Lawwell insisted Celtic WILL crack open the kitty and he said: “The board recognises the inherent inefficiencies of holding excess cash, and, in conjunction with other cash commitments, the importance of investing in strengthening the team to deliver football success. The board shares the frustrations of the supporters regarding the less than anticipated activity in the recent transfer window.

Since the opening of the transfer window in June, we have committed £23.9m in player investment. Within this we renewed and extended the contracts of Cameron Carter-Vickers, Liel Abada, Matt O’Riley, Anthony Ralston and Reo Hatate.

The board’s commitment is to strengthen and improve the playing squad in every transfer window and although resources were available, we were unable to further add to the squad due to the unavailability of identified targets.

“This was disappointing to us all, and never the intention. The January transfer window is notoriously difficult as clubs are very reluctant to let their best players go at such a crucial time of the season just as we are. Indeed, we resisted strong interest in our players from other clubs.”

Celtic made a trading profit of £32m thanks to Champions League dosh for the second season on the spin. The cash flow traditionally dips in the second half of the season but Lawwell insisted the long-term strategy of improving in Europe is key – along with fighting it out in the remainder of the domestic season

He said: “We took consolation from a number of good performances (in the Champions League) which will serve our squad well, but our objective is to keep improving and competing in Europe.

“Looking towards the year ahead, winning the Premiership and the Scottish Cup is our immediate focus and priority. There remains a long way to go and all to play for. We will all unite behind the team
