Never updated this in ages but that's me starting year 3!!! Of weights. Mental how fast that's went. Never did make it to 6 pack alley though :56: but kept the weight mostly off sitting at 16 stone and about to start the clean diet again for janaury. Got the muscle size now to actually look pretty * good once I drop another couple stone. Can see a chest line n the lot. Bench 130kg for 6 reps but iv sort of platoed at that. Happy enough with my size now though, just got to do the hardest part. Loose those last few stone of fat :( sad times haha.

I'm on it for the first time in my life. Thought as I'm now in middle age for a Glaswegian, I should probably do something to make it through the second half of my life with limited pain.

I look like a potato with cocktail sticks. There's * and guts and noodle arms. No muscle anywhere. I'm surprised I don't just self implode with the mass tbh.

Anyway, I'm actually going to try not be a lazy * all my life and eat healthier and exercise.

    * help me.

Are you trying any specific plans, working out from home or a gym?

First time doing over 10k since I ran a marathon two and a half years ago.

Have signed up for a half marathon in April. Have missed the buzz of a long run.

Ran my fastest 10k since 2021 or something the other night. Managed a sub 24mins 5k and sub 4.30 k which were all goals of mine too.
Buzzing because I never thought I'd hit those numbers again post lockdown breakdown and weight gain etc and then breaking my ankle last year. Down to just under 80kg from 92.7 at the heaviest I saw on the scales and it was probably worse than that at points.
Hopefully can keep this up and get back into decent shape.

Just having the desire to finish a 5k takes a lot of willpower. That alone shows that you’re up for it.

I wouldn’t even be concerned with the time on the first few, even if your time goes up.

Once you’ve done a right good few I’d then think about trying to shave a bit of time off it.

Hope this isn't too much or cringe or whatever but here's a wee collage of comparison pics I made of my recent weight loss. Still want to lose a bit more but things are heading in the right direction!

I've no done one for a good while now. Do miss them..

Go to 2 different gyms now so been battering them more than running on the roads. Ones my local leisure centre and the other is when I'm down by my maws with my brother..

Do some runs on the treadmill but just 10 to 20 minute ones mainly been getting bigger. Definitely paying off I can see it and so have many others, even pt's round my old area in the gym..

Genuinely best condition I've ever been in..

    Congrats @McChiellini..

any time I’ve reached “the best shape I’ve ever been in” I soon lose motivation and fall back into old habits. In shocking shape right now. Not fat or anything, carrying probably 3-4kg more than I should be but I’m determined to hit those heights again and run my first marathon on top of that. Had my first run in probably 5-6 months today. 1km or so was all I could muster before my chest felt like it was about to cave in

Anyway, reason for the post was to just encourage you to find a way to keep that motivation high. Don’t ask me how because I’ve failed on that front a few times lol
