Iwata is back in training apparently

 

midfielder Reo Hatate (Celtic) 　, who was substituted with an injury in the first round of the Asian Cup finals against Bahrain (3-1), was diagnosed with a strained muscle in his right calf. A spokesperson for the Japan Football Association (JFA) made this announcement on the 2nd, before practice the day before the quarterfinal match against Iran.

　He is currently accompanying the team and undergoing treatment at the dormitory, and his future actions are "undetermined." After the game against Bahrain, coach Hajime Moriyasu hinted at his withdrawal, saying, ``I think it hurts him the most, but it's also very painful for the team to lose a player who fights with so much soul.'' However, the decision was not made. If this happens, it will be announced again.

　In the 33rd minute of the first half of the game against Bahrain, in which Hatate was a starter, he sat down on the pitch holding his right calf, causing the play to be suspended. He walked to the locker room while being escorted by the team doctor and was replaced by midfielder Hidemasa Morita.

Sounds like it may not be to bad. If Japan get to the final we wouldn’t have had him available until 17.02. V Killie (H). We should manage a game like that with what we have. Next game is M’Well (A) 25.02. Hopefully he can make that, or some minutes at least.

All guesswork the now though we will just have to wait and see what they are saying when they find out more.
