  1. I'd want to leave if I saw Johnston get on ahead of me.

  4. Let him go if he wants to go simple I’m sick of hearing he’s good etc we’re basing that off him playing against haddies in the lowland league. Clearly thinks he’s better than he is no 18 year old should be taking the * out of us if he doesn’t sign it withdraw the contract let him go simple

  5. He looks like one

  6. He's probably never seen one in his life the wee gimp

  7. Where has the lad spoken for him to sound like a *, am I missing something?

  8. Based on the quotes from his dad, I suppose. Both sounds like a couple of eejits.

Wanted to go abroad and still sort of does, but apparently now happy to stay and get more game time. But now he’s turned down a contract.

The whole situation has been a mess really.

  9. You can’t base your opinion on someone on what their Da says FFS :56:

Or the made up situation for that matter.

  10. What’s the “made up situation”?

And eh, when his dad is on radio shows saying that Rocco wants to move but a minute later saying he wants to stay…sounds like neither of them have a clue what they want.

  11. No one has a scooby what the lad wants other than minutes.

The made up situation is you’ve taken rumours for gospel.

Again another one that doesn't make sense from Rodgers..

We are playing a player who we are actively trying to sell over a player we are actively trying to keep and sign a new contract.. utterly bizzare

  12. Nae danger, Paul.

  13. It looks like business will be concentrated into the final hours of the transfer window, tonight in the Daily Mail McGowan writes:

Manager Brendan Rodgers is still looking for a left full-back and a forward, with loans from England the most likely marketplace.

Midfielder Rocco Vata remains in talks with Celtic over a new four-year contract.

A report on Monday night claimed that the 18-year-old, son of former Parkhead defender Rudi, had rejected the offer. But negotiations are still continuing, with both sides keen to reach an agreement.

  14. As suspected, no source fabrications. Dangerous game to be playing on a public forum.

  15. Not sure why people think Vata should take whatever we offer him and like it regardless.

This is a huge decision for him. Would like to see him stay if the plan is to get him into the squad and some game time because he's merited it, otherwise not that bothered having another "project" that gets loaned out to Queen's Park.

  16. Because the same guys that constantly complain about youth no getting a chance and our pathway to the first team being shocking (it is that btw), will take great offence and get affronted as * when youth players don’t accept anything and assess there options. Plus, his Da’s an agent with a fuckload of contacts, he’s let him see his options but looks like he’s guided him back here after that. Him getting brought back in the fold, game time, and rumours of a new contract shows that at the very least Vata’s showing enough that after a standoff between us and him for a year or so, by two different managers, has got to a point we’re both parties feel like it’s a good option for each other.

I think he’ll sign a deal, and if he knuckles down and earns a place for himself, and looking at his physique now compared to 6 months ago (his age and growing doesn’t just do that change) I think he’s knuckling down and I couldn’t see BR entertaining * all if he wasn’t.

So, reading between the lines, he’ll sign here again. And we might have played a blinder if that happens, maybe lessons learned from Karamoko.

  17. So the boys a * etc because he’s not accepting an offer from us straight away when he’s got options in Italy and probably elsewhere. Jesus man. I don’t blame him for holding off for now. From what I gather is he wants to stay here but with opportunity our youth get it’s a big risk to sign a 4 year deal and then realise you aren’t playing and the offers from other clubs are gone now.

It’s sickening how poor we are at playing youth players nowadays. We are just completely terrified of doing it in any games that matters. We will always give guys like MJ, Forrest, Turnbull a chance before them everytime. These are guys that have no future here and are useless 9/10 times. What benefit is there to playing them? None.

  18. Met the boy a few weeks ago at a Lebanese place in Sharjah. Blethered away and he seemed more into his cricket than football tbh. Seemed a bit lost.

  19. If he likes cricket then he probably is a bit of a *.
