Rodgers will be looking elsewhere now. Seems like he was sold a lie by the board when he came in.

Brendan had the chance to lay down his demands, his budget, his role in recruitment and the changes that needed to happen above to correct the issues that led to him leaving last time.

However BR chose not too, he told us all there were no pre-demands, said he'd take and coach what he's given and would give all our players (even the obviously terrible ones) a chance.

That tells you everything about his current motivation and ambition.
Celtic is semi retirement option to Brendan Rogers (and our board), an easy gig with lots of trophies and adoration - the elite manager ambition is no more.
This lack of drive, ambition is what we now see on the pitch.

Celtic's board equally had the chance to put clear daylight between us and our rival on and off the pitch, but once again, did not.

BR has a * cheek to moan now, now that it's getting a wee bit uncomfortable. He had the chance when he signed and in the summer to lay a foundation for success, kick the board up the *, fundamentally change things - but never bothered (or couldn't?)
Snide comments to fans and supporting the board will absolutely not help, it shows he's feeling it though.
Regardless of the rest of the season, this feels like the beginning of the end for the manager.
His original plan A of a 12 month Majorca sabbatical beckons

If someone like Rodgers doesn't have the character to sway the board into Investing into the squad... then neither he or board should be at the club.

Historically we've seen the revenues Rodgers can assist with generating when it at least looked like the squad was getting what he thought it needed.

This season, we've arguably got the easiest £60mill up got grabs if the board just committed to a net spend of £15mill which will likely be offset by winning the league and then summer sales of a host of talents like O'Riley, Abada, Hatate and players of that ilk. But yet the board continue to spend nothing.

Rodgers can cry about wanting quality but he's been here long enough that signings made will have had his input and he's little throwaway comments once in a while about these things are truly pathetic attempt to dissociate himself from what is happening.

We will win the league but at this rate, we crawling towards an implosion similar to 10iar season

he's an egotistical maniac and them comments after the game he made were very strange.
not taking any responsibility for how pedestrian we have been this season. It's obsoletely horrendous to watch.
Were not going to win every game 5-0 that's fine but the side to side passing endlessly doesn't help that. seems like no player is allowed to take a risk.
I never wanted him back in the first place but it is what it is but that style of football he's got them playing has to be addressed. Pish

I think he has to finish the season. If he walks then he doesn't look good to other clubs. If he wins the league and then walks he can at least leave with improved stock. I think then Rodgers will probably not work for a while.

To be 6 months in the job, not know your best 11 or have a settled side, not have your own signings in after 2 windows screams interference...why has this happend? Why has Rodgers accepted this.
    Absolutely rotten behind the scenes.

If we drop points on Saturday or very soon after the window closes, its gonna be toxic. A * up of corporate doings...

It’s the lack of his own signings above all else that is worrying.

To me that suggests he’s in with the board. It’s not that hard to make them go slightly above budget for one of your players. Either that or he is just disinterested.

Rodgers has proved he is a good manager. We competed in pretty much every game in the champions league (bar athletico away and you could argue you were the better team up until the red card), he has beat the huns twice already this season with a team much much worse than anges team last season. We’re at the stage now rodgers team is getting boo’d after a 1-0 win at home despite the fact our last win at home in the league was a victory over the huns. Some of this has to be on the Board and recruitment as he’s getting the max out of some of he dross we have at his disposal

I don't see the point for either Celtic or him coming back.

We don't look like we're willing to back him and I don't understand why he wouldn't be kicking up a fuss about it.

This is a horrendous window that is completely self inflicted.

A lightning strike on the 9th green as Desmond Jr hands daddy a carbon putter…

I don't think Rodgers necessarily had any guarantees over being backed. I think once Desmond has made his mind up he goes over the boards head and flies out or has his desired candidate flown to him and sweet talks him one to one. A few one liners, golf courses, use of private jet, it's good to have me as your mate, unfinished business, repair your reputation and the deal is all but done. He sends his lackeys out to get signatures on paper and he's straight back to his private beach.

If transfers were spoken about it could have been as little as we do things differently now, new people, better scouting and Brendan seeing Ange's success rate agrees without doing his due diligence.

He walked from us mid season and then was sacked from Leicester after he got them relegated after taking over a strong squad.

Its going to look just as bad on him if he gets sacked.

You forget how bad some of Rodgers own signings were in his first spell.

We barely competed in europe. We capitulated in games against Feyenoord and Atletico which was a recurring theme in his euro campaigns in his first spell.

Even at home at Lazio, lapses in concentration cost us. We cant just judge segments of games as a success. We leak goals too easily to stand a chance in europe.

We were playing with 9 men in Feyenoord and 10 men in Madrid for most of it. I’d say they are mitigating circumstances in fairness. The game in Lazio I have sympathy for him because that is a prime example of summer recruitment totally * us. Having to play Forrest and Yang with Mikey Johnston on the bench as the other option as we had injuries and suspensions.

We picked up 2 more points with a worse team compared to last season. The summer window meant we were on a hiding to nothing in Europe in all honesty.

How do you give a pass because we cant keep players on the pitch? To stand any chance its vital we keep our shape and discipline.

In three CL campaigns under BR we have scored 5 in each and conceded 16, 18 and most recently 15 and its no coincidence. This year was arguably our easiest CL group.

You can sugar coat it however you want, we were nowhere near competing to qualify.

I think this is overblown at times but it's been done to death so I won't go into it now.

Suffice to say, managers usually bring in at least one or two players they know early on in their tenure. It's strange it's not happened.

Even if we accept the argument that Rodgers cannot spot a player for the life of him, it's ridiculous to argue he doesn't know good players when he's actually worked with them.

We were a snot away from beating Lazio at home which would have meant 7 points in theory.
