I mean, Depay has played for a 2 or 3 huge clubs in his time, I definitely wouldn't say he was a 'miss'... hasn't worked out for him in Spain with Barca and now Atheltico Madrid but he had a very good few years in France with Lyon after struggling at United.

Bas Dost has had a very strong career outside of Holland. In fact, he scored 63 goals and had 19 assists in 160 games for Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt. He also scored 24 goals, with 3 assists in Belgium for Club Brugges in less than 60 games. Surely he isn't being classed as a miss?

Dessers... he's a pure * footballer but his goal scoring is actually ok. It's not like he's totally flopped since he left Holland. Decent enough records in Belgium and Italy.

Finnbogasson, yeah. Didn't work out for him at Sociedad when he moved there and he didn't have a great stint on loan at Olympiakos during his time in Spain, either. He did spent a very good 6 years in Germany, though. With Augsburg. Had a good scoring record there as well.

Janssen, I mean, he came in to be second fiddle in reality to a top EPL team and they kept him far too long. Again, though. He went to Turkey on loan, did ok. Moved to Mexico, did quite well and now he's back playing for Antwerp as their top striker and he's a huge player for them and has been since he moved there.

I think the other point to make is, they're coming into a completely different environment here where we create a ridiculous amount of chances and dominate every single game we play domestically.

 

Both Dessers and Lammers have had similarly good seasons as Van Hooijdonk had last season in the Eridivise. Not saying that means anything but I can understand the scepticism of strikers there.

 

It doesn't quite work like that, though. People are saying we should sign Miovski and Shankland because they can score goals in Scotland but ignoring people who can score in the Eredivisie because someone * like Dessers had a decent goal return there.

Dessers is a mince footballer but his goal scoring record isn't as bad as some make out.

Loved his dad and I’ve got good will for the lad because of that, but if I’m trying to be objective, all the footballing evidence is giving heavy Dessers vibes.

 

I can't decide if you mean Henrik or GG but Henrik was never top scorer in Holland the rest on the list were. I'd also rate Suarez higher than GG ... just

 

To be fair people will say the exact same about our league. Edouard was incredible up here but doesn’t do much with Crystal Palace these days.

I think on average good players in the Eredivisie will still be good in Scotland, a bit unfair judging them when they go to La Liga ect

There was clearly interest from us in the summer. Whether or not we’ve managed to get the deal we were looking for 6 months ago is anyones guess.

He’s not prime * Larsson but at this point in time, I’d take him because at the very least, it’s someone to get excited over.

Knowing our luck, he won’t be joining us.

Stop dicking about and sign a * striker capable of playing in this team bcoz I canna watch much more of that *

 

Whilst I'd agree normally. Feel ourbset and tactics would pretty much nullify any striker.
