One half decent showing in the CL has apparenty piqued AM's interest, they certainly aren't considering it because of his domestic form let's be honest. If he can make a team like that sit up and take notice then no reason why another good showing in the CL won't attract the same or better offers.

Do you really think he has anything to gain from another crack at europe with us, when he's already attracting this high a level of team?

I am completely with you there. I think pushing for 30m based on how well he played in the champions league and his still young age is realistic IMHO. At the very least though he should be breaking our record of about 25m that we got for Tierney and kind of for Jota. I say Kind of for Jota because of course we had to give Benfica a sizable sell on profit fee so that really wasn't a 25m deal for us.

Anything said about him at the end by Rodgers? Surprised he wasn't subbed off today.

Seemed to pull up a bit in the first half.

First half he pulled his back, and had to come off to recover/stretch it, and still appeared to be getting twinges second half.

Had one of his poorer games today. Think that affected those around him so shows how valuable he is for us.

When Atletico Madrid’s interest in Matt O’Riley first became known, it looked like Odin Thiago Holm would be a leading candidate to step into the midfield to replace him.

With Celtic sticking rigidly to their insistence that O’Riley won’t be sold, however, the Norwegian may have to settle for continuing to learn from his fellow midfielder instead. This hasn’t been the easiest of maiden seasons for the 21-year-old, a summer arrival from Valerenga who is yet to play a full 90 minutes and was sent off on his Champions League debut away to Feyenoord.

Among the positives, though, has been the steady influence of O’Riley who is only two years older but blessed with a maturity, both on and off the field, that belies his relative youth. That O’Riley has similarly arrived from a small club – MK Dons–to thrive both domestically and in the Champions League makes him the ideal example for Holm to try to follow.

Matt plays in the same position as me and he’s a really good player so I try to learn a lot from him,” he confirms. “I couldn’t have a better role model. He’s doing everything right and he’s a topprofessional away from the pitch as well. I try to watch what he does and learn from him. I wouldn’t say he gives me advice – I just look at him to see what he does and how he does it. I watch how he plays, how he recovers and also the work he does in the gym. That has helped me.

“Matt inspires me because you look at how he came here from a smaller club and what he’s achieved here at Celtic already. You have to be patient in football and take your chance whenever you get it. I’m sure Matt would say he’s done that. Throughout his career so far, he’s done all he can to improve. When you get a chance, you have to be ready. I’m sure all the players here have dreams of reaching their top level.”

Shoulda been taken straight off yesterday as soon as he pulled up and didn’t look right. Ridiculous to risk playing him further. And if rodgers didn’t think he had the quality to replace him…go out and sign someone.

Well below par today. Wasteful with his chances and a lot of his passing.

The * was he doing at the end with that late chance? Got to it ahead of Roos and tried to dummy it round him or something? Should've just tried to * it over him and cause a scramash.

Absolute joke of a performance, I don't think he did 1 thing right and I mean make a pass, tackle, head, shoot. Absolute woeful.

I know it's usually meant to be a far fetched quote but seriously coulda pulled a * off the street to contribute more.

Was poor, but we are too over reliant on him. With Kyogo not on top form, and Turnbull away, others need to start chipping in with goals.

Not sure what’s happened to him. Needing to sort the make up of our midfield and get him more involved again. Games just seem to be passing him by just now. Unless that knock against Ross County is causing him bother.

He’s been poor in the past two games. Needs to work on his tackling, shooting and generally get stuck in more when the going gets tough.
