Not young but early in his career. Everycunt has a ceiling, even Henrik and Van Dijk had a ceiling. We’ve not found Scales’s yet. Infact he’s * thrived at every single challenge thrown at him, and whilst doing it, he’s been available every * game as well. BR’s been extremely lucky with what’s happened with Scales, he was out the door, and then he’s been the guy who’s held the backline together. More than guys like Hart, our most experienced player, or AJ who was someone we didn’t expect to need a Scales to hold him together. Or CCV, who he’s turned into the leader and organiser in his absence, and learned off him and let CCV do his thing when he’s partnered him back there.

Scales for me, with Welsh and Nawrocki at CB.

I’ve found it incredibly difficult to second guess BR this year though, I say it too much almost fixated on it, but he took Palma off (our only creative player round that time) and put Berna on chasing a win from Hearts. After a week or so before sticking Ralston at RB for a half hour when Taylor had the flu.

None of us have a * clue what he’ll do when it’s ‘Framed’ like that:56:

Welsh still no injured from the Hun game? I’d stick Berny at LB

Someone was saying, @Westlondonscot I think, that it's actually 5 appearances either side of the January break. Still take your point though.

Playing a back 3 would be ideal, especially against RC. But we dont have 2 strikers right now and we dont have anyone capable of playing wing back role. And we dont have a competent LB to fill in for GT, who has been flogged this season.
    Talk about shambolic recruitment.

He came on as a sub at the weekend did he not?

If it was me I’d just put Frame there, a game at Parkhead, full team outwith him so helps to support him, and he done himself every * respect at the highest level for us already. Give it a try, I can remember a similar scenario where we finally trusted a young guy after trying Tyler Blackett instead, moving Efe Ambrose there instead and then finally needing to trust him after already been shown he’s a player - and being repaid in droves giving out that chance that was * earned more than what was infront of him before he got that chance.

That time, Tierney absolutely bullied Van Persie when they tried to exploit him, to an extent Van Persie got moved back away from him because he was being bossed off KT. Never looked back from that.

Frame’s one performance that he done well in, showed a very good mentality to go along with ability, and mentality is the most important thing IMO, I’ve seen more players make it who have the mentality rather than the wrong mentality but more ability.

If Taylors out, the other first team options there in Berna hasnt been deemed good enough and actively being punted, the other in Scales is our first choice CB right now. Then why the * not just play the boy? We won’t do it though

    * amazing when you think about it, guy is just superb. If Matt ended up away Scales would have been POTY by quite a distance this year, and not just by a fluke either.

Scales has been the happiest accident I’ve ever seen. We were pretty much waiting to play Aberdeen second game of the season before letting him go back there for minimal money, then we got 5/6 * CB’s injured. That’s insane.

Then he played 2 games looking like a 7th choice, then turned * flawless. You see the recent article he was top ten dominant CB’s in the air this season? The Hun game there he won 21 Aerial Duels, out of 23. Thats insane. Even having 21 duels to win is never mind that dominance. They clearly thought that was a weak part to exploit against us, and its one of out strongest areas this year. Then how much he covered Taylor first half, and dealing with 2 diff CB’s he’s barely played with next to him.

And that’s been him all season that description

Aye, I genuinely hate that I had the thought maybe this will spur us into action hopefully we have somebody in mind.

cos thats * ridiculous that it’s a question that Beck playing for Liverpool has scuppered our Lb prospects

To be fair, who could have guessed that our only LB that we want to be the back up might get injured, and we’d need to find another Lb to play.

I wouldn’t move Scales, I think Rodgers will though. Especially if CCV is available

Given the season he's having, would anyone really be suprised if Scales plays there on Saturday, gets man of the match and ends up playing there rest of the season and being the solution to the LB problem.

Maybe a bit far fetched but not as much as our recruitment team identifying and signing a left back within the next week.

I’d have said exactly as likely GT getting injured, as it was us not signing a LB incase it happens.

Him being fit every game, is also as likely as the amount of cover or players vying for his place as well. Thats the Celtic way.

I would, anytime I’ve seen him play LB , Real Betis under Ange aside, he’s been nowhere near the level he is at as a CB.

He started playing well for Aberdeen when he moved to CB as well, and he played at LB for Ireland for a bit earlier this season and he was * there.

Don’t think he knows how to position himself at LB, too far forward or too far back.

Grand old team to play for
With CCV available and Rogers talking up Rocki in the presser, think he's going to move Scales to LB. I've got no problem with that as I always though Scales played well at LB for Ange. He reminds me a bit of Charlie Mulgrew, would be great if he was able to do a really good job at LB too (well as long as Lawwell doesn't decide we don't need a new LB).

I dislike the option of moving Scales so much. Nawrocki BR made known was his man in summer, Scales is undroppable just now, CCV is our best player or neck and neck as it when fit, Scales shunting over to LB and not doing as well as he has all season, its an easy option. Right now Scales is the guy that doesn’t shift for anycunt for me, he’s been the * that has held us together defensively surrounded by chaos.
