The way I see it, is the board are only offer him a new contract so they can maximise the price they set for teams to buy him.

Want him to stay another year at least, but as soon as the board get what they want, he'll be away. New deal or not.

Of course, we've seen that with O'Riley, 1 extra year gives us leeway. however I do think it means a player is happy enough because the shorter their contract the more power they have.

He's had 101 appearances for us over 2.5 seasons. 33 out of 38 league games first season, 29 out of 38 last season.

I wouldn't say over 100 appearances in 2.5 seasons is form of an injury prone player.

This season has definitely been the worst but I thjnk we've also rushed him back.

Injury prone is Boerrigter or Mikey Johnston, someone who's career has been constantly stalled as a result of injuries.

    Can't say that about CCV.

Call it what you want his injury record and availability is concerning to me, particularly this season. Some of the games he played in those stats he played injured too. Bit worried that that decision is coming back to bite this season.

I do think it's a tradeoff as his quality is excellent when available.

    This season it is. Admittedly.

But I'm calling it how I've seen it the past couple of years. He's played over 100 games. That isn't injury prone mate.

Him and Starfelt were pretty much ever present foe much of the past couple seasons. Hence the record they held.

He’s not injury prone like KT and Mikey Johnstone but he has missed some important games for us. Wouldn’t put me off keeping him here for as long as possible

The most annoying thing is we’ve never had a settled CB partnership going in to the Champions League.

Starfelt missed every game last year with the exception of the last game at the Bernabeu, and Carter Vickers has barely played this year.

Missed the two games against Rangers as well which Rodgers has done well to navigate.

Yes he has had a bad 2023, but 1 season does not make a player injury prone, Kieran Tierney who I love has numerous injuries every season, that is a player who is injury prone there is a difference

Cameron Carter-Vickers has NOT yet been offered a new contract by Celtic.

The defender has been the standout for the club in their defence since he joined in 2021 on loan, initially, before a permanent deal was struck. Manager Brendan Rodgers has been clear with his intentions and recently explained how vital to the Hoops the American is and that he has found his home in Glasgow as the number one pick at Celts.

Suggestions emerged this weekend that an extension had been put in front of the player amid Premier League interest from West Ham and Brentford, but Rodgers dismissed that

Asked if a contract had been put to CCV, Rodgers told BBC Sportsound: "No. I didn't know that, so...

I would know) probably before you, I would say."

Not at all for me. IF CCV was of a mind to want to stay long term with us and sign a long term contract that would be incredible for us.

Tierney had hardly any injury issues when he played under deila and first season under Rodgers
Then a hip issue occurred went under knife and been picking up injuries ever since … ccv is following this same pattern with his knee

Call me a para Merchant but with the Recent contract talks and now apparently not been present at training. Giving the latest that Matt is going nowhere Is it possible the board may be cashing in on CCV this script has been played out before. I don’t think he’s injured as BR confirmed he will be involved in the Weekends Game.
