In the same episode, towards the end you can see a bald man creep down (and back up) the stairs at Livia’s wake, just over Tony’s shoulder.

It looks like the actor that plays young Uncle Junior in the flashbacks, but it’s blurry so it’s hard to tell.

Bit weird that it was such a miss. If they just made it about Johnny and Tony I’m sure the fans would’ve loved it. I read it’s mostly about Dickie Moltasanti and I’ve no interest in that

Just the general time line of the movie as well. In the show Tony, Silvio, Big * were similar age and had their own little crew as kids, but in the movie Tony is apparently 13ish and * and Sil are apparently already made men.

Look at the * state of this …

    That’s supposed to be Sil.

Just bizarre on all counts. How can Chase have got it so wrong after getting the show so right? Just doesn’t make any sense. Maybe they just paid him to put his name to it.

I watched Michael Frazesne’s (spelling?) review of it on YouTube. Scathing is an understatement. Glad I never put myself through it.

The backstory of Tony, Sil and * as kids. Carmela and Tony falling in love. Tony’s relationship with his dad. Chris’s relationship with his Dad and Tony. Just off the top of my head these things would’ve been great to see.

Instead it’s a fictional story about an Italian vs Black racial war and over the top hyperbolic violence.

Pine Barrens gets mentioned a lot for being one of, if not the best episodes of The Sopranos, and rightly so, but the one that comes after it is right up there too. Season 3 Episode 12. Think it was my favourite so far during this rewatch.

The attempted robbery of the card game by Jackie Jr and his mates and the aftermath is brilliant, as is the way Tony’s bizarre relationship with Gloria comes to an end.

Pine Barrens is brilliant but I’m always a bit surprised when I see it being called the best episode ever.

There was a fair few I thought were better - albeit I couldn’t name them off the top of my head.

Maybe just because Pine Barrens is no unique.

Pine Barrens with Paulie and that phone call make it the greatest.

I think Pine Barrens is such an iconic episode, maybe not the best episode of the whole series but for sheer comedy and memorable quotes it’s up there.

Another toothpick is probably my favourite episode. The one where old man Bacala has to whack Mustang Sally for putting Vito’s brother in the hospital.
Must have watched it 20 times and still enjoy it.
Some of the banter in it is brilliant.

Think it's on NowTV if you have that, just be aware that everyone talks it up something rotten but actually it's not all that lol

It’s brilliant acting, dialogue and character development. it’s far from a slow paced slog but other shows will grip you more episode to episode.

Aye I think me watching Breaking Bad before Sopranos has impacted my thoughts on it, BB has all the things you mentioned and more so probably my expectations were heightened going into Sopranos and it's not quite reached them.
