It is the area of the park we have the most quality/depth, I don't want to lose O'Riley but I don't think we'll be ruined without him, at least it's not panic stations on the same level as say someone came in with a heavy bid for Kyogo and we're left scrambling with nobody because Oh and Maeda are away.

Atletico only spent about 100m euros over the past 3 seasons. They have improved financial stability which is why they probably want the fee to be in the Summer (a loop hole FIFA and UEFA should really close to be honest). However they are still about 500m in debt, I'm not sure they will be wanting to spend £20+m on a player just yet. I think we could wait and get more from another club.

 

They're already close to signing Vermeeren, who's a midfielder for £22m, with about £5m in add ons.

Get him sold and reinvest in some swank new furniture for the boardroom

I’m worried with the recent form of Bernardo the board will see we have an able replacement there for him and jump at the chance for some quick cash

 

I trust the board to do what is 100% wrong for the team and the fans.

 

Not sure if this is something to be worried by. But I listened to the clubs official podcast with O’Reilly and he said his favourite music was Spanish and that he’d been learning and practicing Spanish with some of our Spanish speakers in the squad.

-If Girona bid for him I think he’s gone due to the fact they’re in an exciting title race and lack depth in his position.
-If Atletico Madrid do bid for him he’s gone purely because of who it is (although they seem unlikely to bid after just signing Vermeeren for £18mil from Antwerp)

I think we hold out til the summer if any English bids come in for him, but judging by his evident affection for Spain I think he might see it as too good an opportunity to miss.

 

Not worries about him leaving in this window. He'll definitely be for the off in the summer though. So we need to start identifying targets now. I know we're talking about Bernardo being the natural replacement but I still think we need another player of his ilk.

 

Singing on fee. Higher wages, a chance to play in the big league in the sun. Youd see mother Theresa change her attitude throwing their dummy out of the pram.

I think he's gone! AM are just testing us with a silly loan bid. Once it gets to the end of the window they'll up it to a proper bid and he's off of it's the type of money like the last few big singings we've sold. Celtic will see this as a 20+mill in the bank and we'll win the league anyway with what we have.

 

Not sure his recent form will enter into it, Bernardo will have been intended as taking O'RIley or Hatate's place in the team from the start, whoever leaves first, it's forward planning, he won't have come here to be a bench warmer.

 

I'd imagine O'Riley would fancy the move. I can't see big clubs making an offer without sounding out an agent beforehand - i know it's tapping-up but you've got to be pretty naive to not think it happens all the time.
Probably come down to Celtic's stance on it - and we know they can be willing to keep people here longer than the player's want.(Edouard, Ntcham and Ajer)

 

If the club did it's job properly they would have had a a good idea of where OReily's head was going into the window and if there was any suggestion that he wanted to move on , we would have a replacement lined up and ready to go. Losing him would still sting but much less so if we had a 7-10m player ready to replace him.

But Celtic being Celtic probably hasn't done any of that.
